Abu Dhabi, 04 September 2026 — H.E. Ambassador Alfonso A. Ver, together with Deputy Head of Mission Arvic V. Arevalo and Defense and Armed Forces Attaché PN Capt. Romeo Maraña, received MILKOR UAE CEO Mr. Julian Coetzee and Head of Operations Mr. Wesley du Toit during a courtesy visit held on 03 September 2026, at the Philippine Embassy.

The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential areas of collaboration and explore avenues for cooperation in the defense industry. Both sides expressed optimism for continued and strengthened relations in future engagements.

Abu Dhabi, 03 September 2026 — Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Administration Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega together with DFA-Office of Asset Management and Support Services (OAMSS) Assistant Secretary Charmaine A. Serna-Chua, and DFA-Office of Financial Management Services (OFMS) Executive Director Ryan Francis D. Gener held a 3-day working visit from 30 August 2026 - 01 September 2026 to Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Alfonso A. Ver received the delegation and briefed them on the Embassy’s current operational and administrative developments. The meeting also covered the Embassy's initiative to continuously train personnel in the productive use of AI tools as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance personnel capabilities.

The delegation also met with UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Assistant Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs, Saif Abdulla Al Shamsi, to discuss matters concerning the Embassy’s future facilities and its continued efforts to strengthen its diplomatic presence in the UAE.

The DFA delegation was given a tour of the MOFA Headquarters and discussed plans for a functional, accessible, sustainable, and well-designed office that promotes personnel well-being and strengthens diplomatic presence.

The working visit underscored the longstanding and growing partnership between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates, as both countries continue to deepen cooperation across areas of shared interest. END.

The Philippine Embassy in UAE joins the Filipino nation in observing the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) 2026 this September under the theme "𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚-𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐚𝐧".

This year's theme reminds every Filipino that caring for our seas goes hand in hand with understanding and upholding our rights and responsibilities in the maritime domain.

THE NATIONAL MARITIME CENTER JOINS MANA MO 2026 CELEBRATION

The National Maritime Center joins the nation in celebrating the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 this September, with the theme “Karapatan sa Karagatan, Sama-sama Nating Alagaan.”

As an archipelagic nation, our seas are more than just boundaries between islands. They connect our communities, sustain livelihoods, support our economy, and contribute to our national security.

This MANA Mo, we are reminded of our shared responsibility to understand, protect, and responsibly use our maritime spaces and resources. Let us note that safeguarding our seas also means strengthening maritime awareness, upholding our maritime rights, and working together to keep our waters secure for generations to come!

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi is pleased to announce the winners of the Filipino Children’s Story Writing Contest held in celebration of Buwan ng Wika in line with this year’s theme “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon”.

The Embassy received 14 entries from Filipino teenagers residing in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. From these entries the winners are:
