NEW COUNCILLOR FOR WARD 3 SWORN IN, RESTORING FULL REPRESENTATION IN COUNCIL

City of Mutare has restored full political representation in all its Wards following the swearing-in of Clr Portia Gwinyayi as the new Councillor for Ward 3.

Councillor Gwinyayi took her official oath of office today at the Civic Centre Council Chamber, filling the vacancy left by the late Clr Tichaenzana Maita, who passed away in June this year.

The ceremony was presided over by His Worship the Mayor, Clr Simon Chabuka and was attended by fellow Councillors, District Development Coordinator, Mr Tendai Kapenzi, Honourable Getrude Mutandi, Council management, and residents of Ward 3.

Councillor Gwinyayi emerged victorious in the recent by-election to represent the residents of Ward 3.

Speaking after the swearing in ceremony, the Mayor welcomed Councillor Gwinyayi and urged her to serve the residents of Ward 3 with diligence, transparency, and commitment to service delivery.

With this appointment, all Wards in the City of Mutare now have elected representatives.
