The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) continues to provide a powerful platform for thought leadership and national development dialogue.

Commissioner Dr T.R Choruma-Dozwa delivered a compelling presentation at the Rural Industrialisation Indaba, highlighting the critical role of land governance in unlocking rural economic transformation.

Her presentation underscored how strategic land allocation, security of tenure, and sustainable land use practices are key drivers in fostering agro-based industries, creating employment, and empowering rural communities. She emphasized that rural industrialisation is not just about production, but about building inclusive value chains that uplift livelihoods and strengthen the national economy.

The Zimbabwe Land Commission remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote equitable land access and contribute meaningfully to Vision 2030.

On this momentous occasion of Zimbabwe’s Independence Day, the Zimbabwe Land Commission extends its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and to all the people of Zimbabwe.

Today, we commemorate the hard-won independence of our nation, a victory born out of immense sacrifice, courage, and unwavering determination. We pay profound tribute to the brave men and women who took up arms and those who supported the liberation struggle in various capacities. Their resilience and commitment paved the way for the freedom and sovereignty we proudly enjoy today.

As we reflect on our history, we are reminded that the liberation war was not fought solely on the frontlines. It was a collective effort sustained by the masses and communities that provided shelter, food, intelligence, and moral support. This shared struggle embodies the spirit of unity and solidarity that continues to define our nation.

Central to the liberation struggle was the land question. The fight for independence was deeply rooted in the quest to reclaim our land, restore dignity, and ensure equitable access to this vital resource. Land remains a cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s identity, economy, and heritage.

As the Zimbabwe Land Commission, we remain committed to upholding the principles for which our liberation heroes fought. Through transparent, fair, and efficient land administration, we strive to ensure accountability, promote sustainable land use, and safeguard the rights of all Zimbabweans. Our work contributes to national development and honors the legacy of those who sacrificed for the land and freedom we cherish.

As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us reaffirm our dedication to unity, justice, and the continued progress of our nation.

Happy Independence Day, Zimbabwe!

Let us move forward together, guided by the values of our liberation struggle and inspired by the promise of a prosperous future for all.
