ZIMSTAT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, in partnership with the World Bank, concludes the Zimbabwe Social Registry Training of Enumerators at the Pumpkin Hotel in Mudzi. The Social Registry will enable the Government and its partners to:
a) Identify households more accurately for potential social protection and development interventions;
b) Enhance fairness and transparency in targeting while reducing duplication and leakages;
c) Promote coordination among Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Development Partners through a common data source;
d) Support evidence-based policy-making, monitoring, and evaluation of social programs.

ZIMSTAT Enumerators went into the Mudzi Communities to conduct a field practice in preparation for the upcoming Zimbabwe Social Registry (ZISO). The survey will collect data on demographics, education, employment, housing, land ownership, access to services, economic activities, and household vulnerabilities. This information will directly contribute to improved service delivery, strengthened social safety nets, and support Zimbabwe’s progress towards Vision 2030.

As the curtains come down on the training programme, enumerators have now been fully equipped and are well prepared to go into the field and collect data from companies across the country.

The National Competitiveness Baseline Survey marks a significant milestone as Zimbabwe undertakes, for the first time, a nationwide exercise to measure and track the country’s economic competitiveness using locally adapted indicators.

The survey will provide critical insights to support evidence-based policy formulation, strengthen competitiveness, and drive sustainable economic growth.
