BREAKING NEWS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BREAKING: ZZPP DECLARES CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT BILL NO. 3 NULL AND VOID – "ZANU PF HAS NO MANDATE."
Harare, Zimbabwe – 13 May 2026 – 06:00 HRS
BREAKING NEWS
The Zvido ZveVanhu Peoples Party (ZZPP) has this morning issued an explosive declaration that Constitution Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3) is null and void from the start, arguing that the ZANU PF regime is illegitimate and has no authority to amend Zimbabwe's supreme law.
In a dramatic dawn statement, ZZPP Founder, President and First Secretary Godfrey Matadi declared that the current government lacks the legal, moral, or democratic mandate to alter the Constitution, citing damning reports from the 2023 harmonized elections.

⚡ DEVELOPING STORY
"A ROGUE GOVERNMENT"
"The SEOM and SADC reports of 2023 are crystal clear," Matadi said. "ZANU-PF is not a legitimate government. It is a rogue administration. And a rogue government has no right – none – to touch the Constitution of Zimbabwe."
The Party is now calling on SADC, the African Union, and the international community to intervene immediately.
🚨 KEY DEMANDS
ZZPP has laid down three non-negotiable positions:
1. CAB3 is DEAD on arrival – Any attempt to pass it is an act of treason against the people of Zimbabwe.
2. The public consultation is a SHAM – Citizens are being silenced, beaten, and arrested for rejecting the Bill.
3. The regime is trying to LEGALIZE A DICTATORSHIP – Moving to a parliamentary system where MPs select the President removes the people's voice entirely.
📢 WHAT THE REPORTS SAID
The Party reminded Zimbabweans that the SADC Electoral Observer Mission (SEOM), African Union, European Union, and Commonwealth all issued scathing reports on the August 2023 elections, citing:
• ❌ Irregularities in constituency delimitation
• ❌ Restrictions on freedom of assembly and expression under MOPA and the Patriot Act
• ❌ Deployment of state security agents ("Forever Associates Zimbabwe") to intimidate voters
• ❌ Biased state media coverage conflating the ruling party with the state
• ❌ Ballot papers arriving nearly 12 hours late in opposition strongholds like Harare
Conclusion: The elections fell short of the Constitution, the Electoral Act, and SADC Principles for Democratic Elections.
🏛️ "A FRAUDULENT PARLIAMENT."
Matadi went further, declaring that the MPs and Councillors currently sitting in Parliament are illegitimate.
"The so-called 'opposition' in Parliament is a facade – a tool used by ZANU PF to create the illusion of debate while they systematically dismantle our democracy," he said.
"They have no mandate to change the Constitution. They have no right to sit in a chamber and vote away your right to elect a President."
⏰ THE CLOCK IS TICKING
With the 15 May 2026 deadline now only 2 DAYS AWAY, ZZPP is urging all Zimbabweans to reject CAB3 and resist what they call a "legislative coup."
The Party's message is clear:
"The 'Will of the People' is not a dynasty. ZANU-PF has no right to touch the Constitution. CAB3 must fall."

Title: To Every Mother Carrying a Child and a Country on Her Back 💪🏾🇿🇼

Happy Mother's Day, Mama. 🌸

But let's be real. For you, there's no holiday. No rest. No flowers that can fix what's broken.

You woke up today thinking about mealie-meal. About school fees. About the queue at the borehole. About how to stretch nothing into something. Again.

And now they want to add CAB3 to your load?

Let me explain it plain, Mama.

CAB3 is the debt deal they're cooking with the IMF and World Bank. They say it will fix Zimbabwe. But we've seen this movie before. Austerity. Removal of subsidies. User fees at clinics. Crushing informal traders.

That means:
❌ Your child's plate gets smaller.
❌ Your clinic visit costs money you don't have.
❌ Your cross-border hustle gets strangled by "reforms."

They call it debt resolution. We call it a noose dressed as a necklace.

But here is what the Zvido ZveVanhu Peoples Party (ZZPP) says:

NOT ON YOUR BACK, MAMA. NOT EVER.

We pledge to you:
✅ No signing of any CAB3 that cuts food, health, or education.
✅ A forensic audit of every stolen dollar since 1980. Thieves pay. Not mothers.
✅ Direct cash transfers for every primary caregiver.
✅ Child support enforced. No more fathers running away.

And to the father who ran? Come back. Real manhood is not how many children you make. It's how many you raise through the hunger, the queues, the dark night.

To the mothers of Gaza, Sudan, Congo, and every struggling mother in the world: We see you. Our logo—the Mother carrying the Babe—is your flag too. You are the unconquered back of humanity.

So today, Mama, hold your head high. You are the informal GDP. You are the first classroom. You are the fortress.

Let them sign their CAB3. Let them dance in their mansions.

The mother carries the baby. But the people carry the revolution.

Forward with Love. Forward with the People. Forward with ZZPP! ✊🏾

Drop a 🇿🇼 if you stand with Zimbabwe's mothers. Drop a 🌍 if you stand with every struggling mother on this earth.

🚨URGENT: Constitutional Amendment No.3 Explained🚨
What is happening? Parliament is considering changes to our constitution that would:
1. Extend presidential terms from 5 to 7 years ( pushing to 2030)
2. Remove direct presidential elections
3. Centralize executive power

Why it matters: In 2013, we fought for a constitution that limits power and protects citizens.
These amendments undo those protections.

Today, I delivered an Address to the Nation that should have come from a government that cares. But since silence from those in power has become the order of the day, Zvido ZveVanhu Peoples Party / Izifiso Zabantu (ZZPP) will speak for the people.

A litre of petrol now costs US$2.17.
A litre of diesel costs US$2.05.

That makes Zimbabwe the second most expensive country for fuel in the SADC region.

But here is the truth the government does not want you to know:

📌 Nearly 40% of what you pay at the pump goes to taxes — excise duty, strategic reserve levy, carbon tax, debt redemption levy.
📌 Between early March and mid-March alone, taxes on petrol increased by over 64%.
📌 Meanwhile, a mandatory ethanol monopoly forces us to buy local ethanol at US$1.10 per litre — almost double the global market price.
📌 And in 2025, US$4.2 million was paid from a tax account to Betterbrands Petroleum, owned by a ruling party legislator — no tender, no transparency.

These are not accidents. These are policy choices — choices that enrich the connected few while ordinary Zimbabweans pay the price.

Today, ZZPP is making three clear demands:

1️⃣ 30% TAX RELIEF — Reduce non-essential levies immediately to bring our prices in line with the SADC average. South Africa taxes fuel at ~20%. Why should we pay double?

2️⃣ FULL TRANSPARENCY — Disclose the complete fuel pricing build-up. Every cent. Every levy. Every contract. Zimbabweans have a right to know.

3️⃣ ANTI-MONOPOLY ACTION — End the ethanol monopoly. Open the market to competitive bidding. Allow the sale of unblended petrol. Investigate the concentration of power in the fuel sector.

This fight is not just about fuel.
It is about the fundamental relationship between the state and the people.
It is about whether we accept extraction disguised as governance.
It is about whether we tolerate a system where monopolies are protected and taxpayers are looted.

To President Mnangagwa:
You spoke of "leaving no one behind."
How does US$2.17 per litre lift up the poor?
How does a 64% tax hike in two weeks show empathy for struggling families?

To Parliament:
You are representatives of the people, not servants of the Executive. Do your job. Investigate. Summon witnesses. Demand documents. Zimbabweans are watching.

To my fellow Zimbabweans:
I know you are tired. I know you are struggling. But do not surrender your voice.
Demand transparency. Speak truth to power. Join us.
