The Season 1 participants of the Eagles’ Nest Agri‑Challenge visited the Netherlands on a Learning Visit. Day 1 focused on modern beekeeping, honey processing and urban biodiversity at Nieuwe Bijenpark and Molen De Otter, showing strong opportunities for Zimbabwean beekeepers in value addition and export. Days 2–3 included one‑on‑one technical consultations at PUM’s HQ in The Hague on leadership, marketing and business efficiency. Day 4 explored crop production innovation at Wageningen Plant Research and Koppert BV, and Day 5 featured high‑tech growers and research centres in Eindhoven and Someren. The visit concluded with supply‑chain and greenhouse visits to Greenco, Holstein Flowers and Dynaplant, leaving participants with practical insights to boost productivity and market readiness.

Day 2–3: The Season 1 Eagles’ Nest Agri-Challenge participants continued their Learning Visit in the Netherlands with one‑on‑one technical sessions at PUM's HQ in The Hague, focusing on improving business processes and farm efficiencies.

The delegation also visited Wageningen University to explore agricultural innovation and crop production technologies. The delegation gained practical insights to boost productivity, value addition, and market readiness for Zimbabwean agribusinesses.

This week we are in the Netherlands with participants from season 1 of the Eagles’ Nest Agri-Challenge on a Learning Visit. The participants are gaining first-hand exposure to innovative agricultural practices, value addition, and sustainable production.
Day 1 featured visits to a bee park and museum, where participants explored modern beekeeping, honey processing, biodiversity, and the critical role of bees in agriculture.

Eagle’s Nest Agri-Challenge Season 2 is here! 🌾

ZimTrade, in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Zimbabwe, is inviting young Zimbabwean entrepreneurs to apply for this year’s agricultural innovation challenge. The programme supports youth-led agribusinesses to grow, create jobs, and tap into export markets.

Are you:

- Aged between 18 and 35?
- Running (or planning) a business in agriculture, horticulture, agri-tech, agri-fintech, or any part of the agri-value chain?
- Working on solutions for sustainable farming, food security, or agri-technology?
