Good evening Mwayasu,

May I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you, the people of the Mazabuka Impis, for the wonderful work you continue to do.

The financial contributions towards the funeral of Ms. Misozi Tonga were overwhelming. The money collected was presented to her father, Mr. Tonga, as a gesture of our love, solidarity, and support during this difficult time.

Your presence and participation at the funeral were truly spectacular. The songs, dances, and cultural displays were a marvel to behold. Even the Mayor-elect, in his speech, acknowledged how we, the Ngoni people of Mazabuka, have continued to unite and stand together in support of one another.

As Chairperson, I am truly thankful and proud of our collective efforts. Let us continue to be trendsetters and ambassadors of peace, unity, love, and solidarity in our community.

May the spirit of Ubuntu and togetherness that defines the Mazabuka Impis continue to grow stronger.

A Tribute from the Mazabuka Impis

Amai Misozi, rest well. You have run your race and fought a good fight. Although we still needed you, we take comfort in the beautiful memories you have left behind.

We will forever remember your simple dances, displaying the beauty, pride and harmony of Ngoni rhythm. We will remember your chiefly smile, your warm character, and the way you embraced everyone regardless of their circumstances.

You were a mother, a friend, a sister, and a great listener. Your presence brought joy and unity to the Mazabuka Impis, and your absence will surely be deeply felt.

You reminded us that “Ungoni sungapele” — Ngoni culture has no limit. Through your passion and participation, you helped keep our heritage alive.

The Mazabuka Impis will surely miss you. We pray for your family during this difficult time and will forever treasure the memories you have left with us.

Today, the Mazabuka Impis gathered to bid farewell to one of their own, Amai Misozi Divine Tonga, a committed and dedicated member of the Mazabuka Impis.

Her unwavering commitment, love, and valuable contributions to the Ngoni community in Mazabuka will forever be remembered. She served with dedication and touched the lives of many through her involvement and service.

As the Mazabuka Impis, we mourn with the family and the entire Ngoni community. Her absence will surely be felt, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and worked with her.

Today, we proudly celebrate the birthday of Mr. Warren Nthele, a man widely respected for his deep appreciation of tradition, culture, and heritage.

As the current Chairperson of the Mazabuka Impis - Chibaya cha Mazabuka. Mr. Nthele has provided visionary leadership in promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the people from Zambia's Eastern Province, who now call Mazabuka home. Under his guidance, the Mazabuka Impis have successfully organised the Nc'wala Celebrations in Mazabuka for four consecutive years, creating a platform to preserve cultural values and pass them on to the younger generation.

Today, we honour a pillar of the community and one of the masterminds behind the continued success and growth of the Mazabuka Impis. Your dedication, leadership, and passion for culture are truly inspiring.

We wish you, Bambo Nthele, a joyful, blessed, and memorable birthday. May God grant you good health, wisdom, and many more years of continued service to your community and culture.

We have laid to rest a lion king, Khosi YamaKhosi Chief Mphezeni IV. As we continue to mourn this great leader, I have observed something remarkable, particularly here in Mazabuka. The cousinship between the Ngoni and the Bemba has grown to an extraordinary level.

From the moment the passing of the Chief was announced, our Bemba cousins did not only engage in the traditional pouring of baby powder on innocent Ngonis as part of our cherished cousinship. They went much further by organizing themselves and contributing mealie meal, relish, charcoal, and other necessities in readiness for the funeral and burial.

Today, as we gathered to bid farewell to our Chief, we stood side by side with them in unity and solidarity. Their support during this difficult period has been visible and deeply appreciated by the Ngoni people.

This moment has once again demonstrated that our cousinship is not merely a cultural practice of jokes and playful teasing, but a bond that comes alive when one family is in mourning or in need.

As we express our gratitude to our tribal cousins, we also humbly appeal to them to consider demonstrating some of their traditional ceremonies away from their homeland so that more people from different parts of the country can participate and experience the rich cultural heritage that strengthens the ties between our communities.

To our Bemba cousins, thank you for standing with us as we mourn and celebrate the life of Khosi YamaKhosi Chief Mphezeni IV. Your presence, support, and solidarity will not be forgotten. Tribute to Inkosi YaMakhosi Mphezeni IV

The great chief, Inkosi YaMakhosi Mphezeni IV, has been laid to rest. Today, the Ngoni people mourn the loss of a revered traditional leader, while at the same time celebrating a remarkable life dedicated to service, unity, and the preservation of culture.

Inkosi Mphezeni IV will be remembered as a leader who united people beyond tribal, social, and political boundaries. Though he wore a crown, he lived with simplicity, humility, and grace. He was a highly social and approachable leader whose warmth, kindness, and great sense of humour endeared him to many.

His leadership was marked by wisdom, peace, and a deep commitment to his people. He carried the rich heritage of the Ngoni nation with pride while fostering harmony and togetherness among different communities.

As the Ngoni nation mourns, it also gives thanks for the life of an extraordinary man whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. The world has lost a great leader, but his example of humility, unity, and service will live on in the hearts of many.

Candlelight Vigil Held in Honour of Chief Mphezeni IV

Last night, the Ngoni community in Mazabuka held a candlelight vigil in honour of the late Chief Mphezeni IV. The event attracted people from all walks of life and different tribes, who gathered in large numbers to pay their respects and stand in solidarity with the Ngoni people during this period of mourning.

The programme featured a presentation on Ngoni history, highlighting the life and achievements of the late Chief and his contributions to the preservation of Ngoni culture and traditions. Traditional songs and mourning dances were also performed, creating an atmosphere of reflection, remembrance, and unity.

The vigil became particularly emotional following a moment of silence. As mourners sang the song Maibabe, the Chairperson of the Mazabuka Impis, Nyongani Nthele, was overcome with grief and broke down in mourning. His emotional response touched many in attendance and reflected the deep loss felt by the Ngoni community and all those who knew and respected the late Chief.

The candlelight vigil served as a powerful tribute to Chief Mphezeni IV, bringing together people from different backgrounds to honour his legacy, celebrate his life, and pray for the repose of his soul.
