The Director of Youth at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts, Ms. Mable Beene Nedziwe, held discussions with representatives from UNICEF on strengthening collaboration towards advancing youth empowerment, skills development, and opportunities for young people in Zambia.

The engagement highlighted opportunities for collaboration in strengthening Youth Resource Centres, supporting young people's transition from learning to employment, enhancing entrepreneurship and employability, modernising skills development, and ensuring young people are equipped with market-relevant skills that respond to the evolving demands of the labour market.

Ms. Nedziwe reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to working with strategic partners to expand opportunities for young people and build sustainable pathways for youth empowerment and socio-economic development across the country.

Empowering young people through skills, inclusion and responsible citizenship. 🇿🇲

Speaking to Prime Television at the 60th Zambia International Trade Fair, Director of Youth, Ms. Mable Beene Nedziwe, highlighted how the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts is advancing youth empowerment through skills development, entrepreneurship and inclusive programming.

She noted that while the formal education system equips learners with academic knowledge, the Ministry complements these efforts by providing practical skills through the 26 Youth Resource Centres across the country, ensuring that young people, including those outside the formal education system, have opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods.

Ms. Nedziwe further reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to leaving no young person behind, citing the translation of the National Youth Policy into Braille as a milestone in promoting accessibility and inclusion for young people with visual impairments.

She also called on young people to be ambassadors of peace by rejecting violence, using social media responsibly, and contributing positively to Zambia's democratic processes.

Innovation continues to take centre stage at the 60th Zambia International Trade Fair 🇿🇲

While attending the 60th Zambia International Trade Fair, Director of Youth, Ms. Mable Beene Nedziwe, engaged with young innovators exhibiting at the MYSA stand, which is also housing the National Youth Development Council (NYDC).
The young innovators showcased a range of innovative products and solutions, demonstrating how they are transforming community challenges into sustainable business opportunities, including the conversion of plastic waste into useful products.

Ms. Nedziwe commended the young innovators for their creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit, and encouraged them to continue developing innovative solutions that address community needs while creating sustainable livelihoods.

The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts remains committed to promoting youth innovation and entrepreneurship by providing platforms, mentorship, and opportunities through the NYDC and youth resource centres across the country.

Building a healthier, informed and empowered generation!

Today, the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts officially launched the drafting of the Revised Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Framework, reaffirming Government’s commitment to equipping young people with accurate, age-appropriate information and life skills to make informed decisions and reach their full potential.

Speaking during the opening session, Director of Youth, Ms. Mable B. Nedziwe, emphasized the importance of an inclusive and practical framework that reflects the realities of today’s young people, including the strong connection between sexual and reproductive health and mental well-being.

The Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to UNFPA, cooperating partners, civil society and youth organisations for their continued collaboration in shaping a framework that responds to the needs and aspirations of Zambia’s youth.

Together, we’re investing in a healthier, more resilient future for every young person.

Young people are key partners in protecting Zambia's natural resources. 🌿🇿🇲

Representing the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kangwa Chileshe, Director of Youth, Ms. Mable Beene Nedziwe, attended the Forest-Related Climate Finance Dialogue as Guest of Honour, where she reaffirmed the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts' commitment to ensuring that young people are meaningfully engaged in environmental stewardship and climate action.

In her remarks, Ms. Nedziwe commended the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and its partners for championing youth participation in forestry and congratulated the 2026 Forest Champions Cohort for their dedication to protecting Zambia's forests.

She further emphasised that empowering communities, the custodians of our forests, alongside young people, is essential to achieving sustainable forest management and building a climate-resilient future.

Together, we are nurturing a generation of young environmental champions committed to safeguarding Zambia's natural heritage.
