Picture focus:
Leibowitz Legacy Foundation partnered with the Lusaka Provincial Health Office to conduct a cervical cancer screening outreach in George Compound. The activity aimed to bring screening services closer to women who face barriers accessing facility-based care.
During the outreach, 61 women were screened using VIA. For those with VIA-positive results, treatment was provided on-site, reducing delays in care. Women with suspected cancer had biopsies taken for further diagnosis and linkage to treatment.
The collaboration between Lusaka PHO and Leibowitz Legacy Foundation ensured that services were delivered with trained staff, proper supplies, and a clear referral pathway for follow-up. Beyond the numbers, the outreach created awareness and encouraged more women to seek screening early.

This model demonstrates how such unique targeted partnerships can close service gaps and improve early detection in high-burden communities across Lusaka Province.
