Several Cocos Palms (Syagrus romanzoffiana) were removed in Windsor Street from an extremely confined working area with very limited space to operate.

Tight spaces increase the complexity and risk of every removal, requiring careful planning and controlled dismantling to protect surrounding structures and property.

🌴 Royal Palm Removal – Smit & Kie 🌴

A large number of gigantic Royal Palms (Roystonea regia) were removed at Smit & Kie after they became a constant risk in the parking area.

Unfortunately, Royal Palms are well known for their extremely heavy fronds, which can cause serious damage when they fall. Over time, several vehicles parked beneath the trees suffered damage due to the sheer size and weight of the falling leaves.

After careful assessment, the decision was made to remove the palms completely to improve safety in the parking area and prevent further incidents.

Projects like these are a reminder that even beautiful trees can become a hazard when planted in the wrong location.
