1st Gordon's Bay and 1st Strand teamed up again this year for the annual Kon-Tiki. Check out the self propelling raft!
The weather was terrible, but our scouts "smiled and whistled under difficulty" - we are very proud of them all.

1st Gordons Bay competed in the prestigious annual Upton Shield day-hiking competition for Junior Scouts (aged 11-14.5). This competition tests the scouts' outdoor and scouting skills along a route. 1st Gordons Bay finished 13th out of 38 teams! Well done team!

1st Gordon's Bay Scouts teamed up with 1st Stellenbosch for 2025's Gordon's Shield competition. It is a tough and gruelling premium camping competition, in Hawequas, Wellington. The competition challenges scouts in campsite setup, cooking, leadership, and traditional scouting skills like knots and navigation, testing their outdoor proficiency and teamwork. Despite the age differences between our young scouts and those of the competitor teams, they showed remarkable dexterity and grit and finished 30th out of 38 teams.

Kon-Tiki 2025 saw our scouts team up with 1st Strand scouts. We also had a combined team in 2024. This year we did better in every metric in terms of building the raft. Very proud of our young scouts. They competed against scouts four to five years their senior!
