The High Commission was delighted to participate in Africa Day celebrations, hosted by the Dean of the African group, which took place on Saturday, May 31st, at the Sir Pierre Van Rynveld High School in Kempton Park.

The Mission showcased some of Jamaica's finest cuisine, including jerk chicken, red peas soup, Jamaican blue mountain coffee, toto, rum punch, Jamaican beef patties, and sorrel.

We were joined in our exhibition by two outstanding Jamaican brands, and JASosoFoods with the latter providing delicious Jamaican patties and sorrel, while Bold by Racquel J offered patrons beautiful makeup sessions and beauty products. (Please inbox for details on how to support these amazing brands).

The High Commission also participated in the performance segment of the celebrations, led by multi-platinum winning South African Reggae artiste Don Dada and a few High Commission staff members.

We extend gratitude to all our Diaspora members and friends who came out to support Africa Day. This was another wonderful celebration of diversity, culture, and shared heritage which our Mission was happy to be apart of.
