A condolence meeting, special prayers, and munajat were held today under the initiative of the All Africa Awami League, South Africa North Awami League, and South Africa Awami Jubo League following the untimely death of former Joint General Secretary of South Africa Awami League and member of the All Africa Awami League, the late Abu Naser Shamim.
Among those present at the program were Dr. Lutfor Rahman Rupon, President of the All Africa Awami League, General Secretary Abdul Awal Tansen, along with leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, and its affiliated organizations.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir, President of South Africa North Awami League, while the program was conducted by Ismail Hossain, President of Johannesburg Metropolitan Jubo League.
Leaders of various social and cultural organizations in South Africa, as well as members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community, also attended the event.
The late Abu Naser Shamim was a respected member of the All Africa Awami League and a senior political companion of Bangladesh Awami League across the African continent for many years. He recently passed away in a tragic incident in Soweto, South Africa.
The speakers expressed deep sorrow and grief over his death and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous and give strength to his bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss (Amin).
