Letter of apology to my community members:
When South Africans casted their first democratic votes 27 years ago, they did so out of pride and joy, as we were marching into a democratic country. Casting the first democratic votes in April 1994 signaled a much anticipated future and change for our beloved South Africa. The blood and sweat of our fallen heroes and heroines are finally paying off.
The Constitution of the Republic of Africa states that we all have rights and freedom of association. As citizens we have a role to play in ensuring that we safeguard that one important right, the right to VOTE. As South Africans we are still fortunate to even express our views on the leadership we want. And we are fortunate enough to elect leaders of our choice.
The African National Congress is an organization that was formed to liberate South Africans from the chains of apartheid and to usher us to the promised land. Since the dawn of democracy, the ruling party has made tremendous progress in transforming communities. What transpired last week Sunday in ward 55 goes against the principles and values of our democratic country. The will of the people must prevail.
As Thanduxolo Doda I have the best interest of this community at heart. I want to assure you that your preferred candidate will serve this community to the best ability. I wish to state that in record, I sincerely apologize for what happened. Let’s not be discouraged by those who don’t have the desire to take care of this community.
Yours comradely:
T Doda.
