Good day Crapri community
As the second semester ends, most of the Capri Academic library community are writing their examinations. Some battle with stress and depression about whether they will do good enough to pass and move to their next levels or complete their qualifications. Others do not have funding and therefore they are stressed about the institution withholding their results at the end of the year. This can lead one to have nervous breakdown which is a state of intense mental distress. A person with nervous breakdown is temporarily not able to function in their everyday life, not coping with stress, worry or anxiety or being overwhelmed by mental health issues. Symptoms include having thoughts of self-harm, feeling isolated and insomnia just to name a few. Some people resort to drugs and substances which can have negative impacts in their lives such as addiction, damaged organs and death.
The community is advised to visit therapists that the university provides for free when they feel too much pressure so that they can get professional help. The offices are at block CK and they are opened everyday of the week. Listening to music, going for a walk, cleaning and exercising can reduce stress if one is not comfortable with speaking to a therapist. Financially, members are advised to save as little as they can from their allowances so that they can make ends meet when there is delay in the release of allowances. Those that do not have funding can go to the finance offices in the institution and get assistance in applying for financial aids such as NSFAS. It is important to study thoroughly and avoid stress for one to pass. We wish you all the best with your examinations.
