France will convene tomorrow a conference of Palestinian and Israeli civil society for the implementation of the two-state solution.

The French minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs will gather foreign representatives and civil society organizations to launch a new call for action a few days ahead of the G7 summit in France (15-17 June in Evian).

While the ceasefire in Gaza remains fragile and colonization in the West Bank accelerates, the call will propose concrete measures for the implementation of the Peace Plan for Gaza (resolution 2803 of the UN Security Council). These recommendations will be a crucial step ahead of the G7 Summit and will feed into ongoing diplomatic processes, such as the New York Declaration, the Gaza peace plan and the Global Alliance for the Two-State Solution.

The outbreak of a regional war has diverted attention from Gaza and the West Bank. We must all remain committed to establishing the two-state solution.

Marjane Satrapi, French-Iranian writer, illustrator and filmmaker passed away today. She was the author of Persepolis a famous graphic novel first published in French in 2000 and later translated into English and dozens of other languages.

Persepolis is widely regarded as one of the most influential graphic novels of the 21st century. Through the eyes of a young girl growing up in Tehran, Satrapi recounts her experience of the 1979 Iranian Revolution and its aftermath, offering a deeply personal perspective on the establishment of the new regime and its successful attempt to hijack the ideals of the revolution for repressive purposes.

President Macron and President Kagame inaugurated yesterday a memorial paying tribute to the victims of the genocide against the Tutsis in 1994.

Back in 2021, President Macron recognized France’s “overwhelming responsibility” in the process that eventually led to the genocide committed by Rwandan genocidaires.

Yesterday, President Kagame of Rwanda congratulated his counterpart for his “courage and humanity”.

“France was not the only one to have failed. Many countries have also failed us, but non have gone so far in restoring the truth”.

🚇⚽️ Several metro stations have been temporarily renamed to honour the newly crowned European champions.
