As part of the build-up programmes to Youth Day, the Mayor Cllr Zukiswa Ndevu, will tomorrow the 15 June 2026 lead the official handover of an RDP house to a vulnerable family at Lugelweni Village in Ward 08.

This handover forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to improving the living conditions of residents and restoring dignity to vulnerable households through access to decent housing.

Umzimvubu Local Municipality congratulates Mr. Xolisa Blaweni on successfully participating in and completing the 2026 Comrades Marathon.

Mr. Blaweni crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 11:26:52, demonstrating remarkable endurance, determination, and resilience.

📢 National NPO Funding Call Open

The Department of Social Development has opened applications for funding of qualifying national NPOs for the 2027/28–2029/30 financial years. Eligible organisations are invited to submit proposals that support key social development priorities and strengthen service delivery across South Africa.
