Over the weekend, ResQ One responded to multiple motor vehicle accidents, where our members assisted by ensuring scene safety, providing lighting, and supporting emergency services where needed.

Our priority remains the safety of all responders, patients, and road users while assisting alongside other emergency services on scene.

ResQ One members were activated following reports of a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the N4 Schoemanskloof.

The collision involved a bakkie and a taxi.

ResQ One members assisted with scene safety and crowd management, ensuring a safe and controlled environment for all emergency personnel.

Scene safety was later handed over TRAC N4 Toll Route

🚨 WEEKEND INCIDENT RESPONSES – 11–12 APRIL 2026

ResQ One members responded to multiple incidents over the weekend in and around Mbombela:

πŸ“ Samora Machel Street, Nelspruit (11/04/2026)
A single vehicle lost control and left the roadway. One occupant was found entrapped. Despite efforts alongside EMS, the patient sadly succumbed to injuries on scene.

πŸ“ R40 Showgrounds (12/04/2026)
A single vehicle rollover was reported. No injuries were sustained. ResQ One assisted with scene safety and roadway clean-up.

πŸ“ R538 (12/04/2026)
A taxi left the roadway, with two patients treated by paramedics. ResQ One assisted with brush clearing, enabling EMS to safely remove the patient and allow towing to recover the vehicle.

We thank all government and private emergency services for their teamwork and dedication.

🚨 INCIDENT RESPONSE – TRUCK TRAILER FIRE

ResQ One members were activated through Nelspruit Concerned Citizens following reports of a truck trailer fire on the N4, approximately 2–4km from the Valencia Split in the direction of Nelspruit.

Upon arrival, members found the truck trailer well alight, with members of the public looting the trailer.

ResQ One members worked to contain the situation, establishing a secure perimeter and scene safety, as well as setting up scene lighting to assist firefighting operations.

This allowed Mbombela fire services to focus on extinguishing the trailer fire safely and effectively.
Scene safety was later handed over to TRAC N4.

ResQ One members assisted Barberton Fire with operations on scene, providing support where required.

ResQ One members were activated for multiple motor vehicle accidents over the weekend at the following locations:

Our members responded and assisted with scene safety, hazard management, and support to other emergency services at each incident.

🚨 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT RESPONSE 14/03/2026

ResQ One received reports via Nelspruit Concerned Citizens regarding a head-on motor vehicle accident involving a truck and taxi that occurred on the R538 (KMIA Road) at the Tekwane North turnoff.

ResQ One members were immediately activated, upon arrival, members established scene safety and reported to SAPS, assisting with scene preservation and crowd control.

ResQ One further assisted with rescue and recovery operations, as well as scene clean-up, ensuring the roadway was cleared of debris so that road users could continue safely.

🚨 Incident: Fallen Tree Obstruction 12-03-2026

ResQ One was contacted by a member of the community after a large tree fell across Baker Street Mbombela, blocking both lanes of traffic.

ResQ One members were activated. Members arrived on scene at 17:30 and began clearing operations. With the assistance of community members, the tree was removed from the roadway by 18:50 and both lanes were successfully reopened to traffic.

ResQ One responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles at the UMP / R40 intersection reported through Nelspruit Concerned Citizens.

Actions Taken:

β€’ Roadway cleanup due to fluids and debris

The roadway was cleared and made safe for traffic.

Great work from all emergency services and recovery teams on scene.

🚨 Incident Response – R37 (03-03-2026)

ResQ One members were dispatched at approximately 18:05 to a heavy motor vehicle accident on the R37 approximately 25km from Mbomblea direction Mbombela. Nelspruit Concerned Citizens

On arrival, members found a truck transporting timber that had overturned losing its load. One lane was closed, and a stop-and-go traffic control system was implemented while recovery operations were underway.

ResQ One members assisted with scene safety and traffic management to ensure the safety of road users and responding services.

ResQ One stood down at approximately 21:15 once recovery operations were completed and the roadway was cleared.
