REVIVE ELIM — OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN MESSAGE

APC Ward 2 Councilor Candidate

Maud Lowane

Reviving Elim. Restoring Dignity. Rebuilding Our Future.

Elim was once one of the most respected communities in our region.

Our schools produced leaders.
Our hospital trained generations of nurses and served communities with excellence.
Our churches strengthened families and values.
Our streets were safer.
Our heritage attracted visitors and inspired pride.

Today many of those institutions are neglected.

Historic buildings are collapsing.
Roads are damaged.
Water supply is unreliable.
Street lights no longer function properly.
Crime and drugs are affecting our youth.
Tourism has disappeared.
Opportunities are scarce.

But Elim can rise again.

WHO IS MAUD LOWANE?

Maud Lowane was born and raised in Elim in December 1961.

She matriculated from Hluvuka High School after transferring from Lemana High School, one of the most respected institutions in our history.

In 1990, she began serving the community as a professional nurse at Elim Hospital.

She furthered her studies at University of Venda and later specialized in Theatre Technique through Chris Banagwath Hospital in collaboration with University of the Witwatersrand.

After decades of service, she retired in 2021 and continued working with the Elim Community Forum to uplift and preserve the community.

She remains an active member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in South Africa and continues serving the community through faith, music, mentorship, and outreach.

She has served the people of Elim her entire life.

Now she is ready to serve Ward 2 as your councilor candidate under the African People's Convention.

OUR VISION FOR ELIM

Restore the Elim Spirit

We believe Elim can become strong again by rebuilding the relationship between:

* schools,
* churches,
* healthcare,
* local businesses,
* youth programs,
* heritage institutions,
* and community leadership.

This is not just a political campaign.

This is a movement to restore dignity, opportunity, safety, and pride to our community.

OUR PRIORITIES

1. Restore Basic Services

Ward 2 deserves:

* proper roads,
* reliable water,
* working street lights,
* cleaner surroundings,
* and accountable municipal service delivery.

Residents should not struggle for the basics while infrastructure collapses around them.

2. Protect and Restore Our Heritage

Lemana High School and Elim Hospital are part of our history and identity.

These institutions helped shape generations of leaders, nurses, educators, and professionals across South Africa.

Yet today many historic structures are neglected and deteriorating.

We will advocate for:

* heritage preservation,
* restoration projects,
* tourism development,
* museum support,
* and economic opportunities linked to our history.

Our heritage must create jobs, pride, and opportunity again.

3. Save the Youth

Too many young people face:

* unemployment,
* drug abuse,
* crime,
* and hopelessness.

We must rebuild pathways for the youth through:

* sports and recreation,
* skills development,
* mentorship,
* local enterprise support,
* arts and cultural programs,
* and community engagement.

The future of Elim depends on the future of its youth.

4. Safer Communities

Families deserve to feel safe.

We support:

* stronger community safety partnerships,
* improved lighting,
* anti-drug initiatives,
* active community engagement,
* and greater accountability from all leadership structures responsible for public safety.

A LEADER ROOTED IN SERVICE

Maud Lowane did not arrive during election season.

She has walked with this community for decades:

* in hospitals,
* in churches,
* at funerals,
* in homes,
* in community meetings,
* and through grassroots service.

Her campaign is built on listening, unity, dignity, and practical solutions.

OUR MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF WARD 2

We cannot continue watching Elim decline while our history, youth, and future are neglected.

The time has come to rebuild.

The time has come to restore pride in our community.

The time has come for leadership rooted in service.
