International Mother Earth 🌍 day

Today we are actively commemorating International Mother Earth Day as part of the Breathe Better Together project, implemented in partnership with Seriti Institute, City of Johannesburg, and Breathe Cities.

Through school-based activations, learners are engaging in practical environmental activities that highlight the importance of clean air, responsible waste management, and sustainable living.
Today’s programme includes air pollution awareness sessions, recycling demonstrations, and tree planting, creating opportunities for young people to take meaningful action for a healthier environment.

Celebrating International Mother Earth day!

Discussions focus on key sources of pollution such as vehicle emissions and waste burning, while highlighting the effects on health and the environment.
This forms part of the Earth Day programme implemented with Seriti Institute, City of Johannesburg, and Breathe Cities.

On the 10 April Bontle Ke Tlhago : Diepsloot hosted a workshop on waste burning and it's impact to the environment The workshop was interactive and the community raised challenges face with Waste Management and need alternatives solutions. We will continue to raise awareness about burning of waste and air quality so that the perception of how we see waste in the community change

Bontle Ke Tlhago Co-operative hosted a workshop on the 20 March as part of a continued educational drive to raise awareness on the importance of air quality and pollution. With the support of Seriti Institute - NPC, Breathe Cities and City of Joburg we continue to reach the community of Diepsloot and spread awareness

Bontle Ke Tlhago Co-operative Clean-up and awareness campaign at Bambanani Primary School Entrance gate.
Bambanani Primary faces a challenge of illegal dumping at the school gate. This affects the air quality and high health risk for school children.
The community assisted in the clean-up along with Seriti Institute - NPCti participants.
