PUBLIC NOTICE
THE LAND PARTY JOB-SEEKING PROTEST
ZWELIHLE, HERMANUS
The Land Party Chief Leader, Gcobani Ndzongana, will lead a 4-day peaceful job-seeking protest in Zwelihle, Hermanus.
Purpose of the Protest:
The protest seeks to address the serious concerns raised by South Africans who remain unemployed while many businesses continue to employ only foreign nationals. We demand fairness and priority for local South African citizens in employment opportunities.
Key Demands:
- Business owners must publicly disclose the number of South Africans they currently employ.
- Businesses must implement a 90% local South Africans / 10% foreign nationals employment ratio, with general labour positions reserved exclusively for South African locals.
- Businesses unwilling to employ South Africans are requested to relocate their foreign workforce to Voelklip and other white suburbs, while taking full responsibility for their safety and accommodation.
- The employed are urged to stand in solidarity with the unemployed by not going to work until every South African who wants a job has one.
Call to the Community:
The Land Party calls on all community members concerned about illegal migration, unemployment, drugs, and crime linked to some migrants to come forward and support this peaceful protest.
All Somali, Ethiopian, and Bangladeshi-owned shops, salons, and other businesses are requested to close for the four days of the protest until the community’s concerns are resolved and meaningful employment of South Africans begins.
Additional Demands:
- The Overstrand Municipality is requested not to collect rent, suspend auxies from Zwelihle residents until every household has at least one working family member.
The protest will remain strictly peaceful, with the safety and protection of all participants ensured.
Dates:
27 June to 30 June 2026
The LAND PARTY will also engage its leadership structures in Gansbaai, Stanford, and Kleinmond to join the Zwelihle community during this period, as these issues affect the entire region.
Should these matters not be resolved, the Land Party will organise a similar peaceful protest during the Whale Festival weekend.
Forward to Justice and Economic Freedom for South Africans!
