🚨 A Win for George: When residents stand together, our voice matters.

The refusal of the Heather Park rezoning application proves that active citizens can help protect the character, safety and sense of place that make George special.

Following GRPA’s formal objection, the Municipality refused the application for Erf 6700, citing concerns that mirror those raised by residents:
✅ Protecting residential character
✅ Preventing traffic and parking pressures
✅ Preserving neighbourhood amenity and safety

This outcome shows that informed, fact-based participation works.

But there is still more to do. Applications that impact our neighbourhoods continue to arise, and strong community representation is essential to ensure that residents are heard.
