MMP HOLDINGS ARMED RESPONSE TEAM RESPONDS TO ALLEGED CABLE THEFT IN MIAMI SANDS
Miami Sands | Early Morning Security Response
In the early hours of the morning, at approximately on the 06/09/2026. @ 00h40, the MMP HOLDINGS SECURITY Control Room received an urgent call from a resident in the Miami Sands community reporting a suspected cable theft incident involving copper cables in the area.
Upon receiving the alert, the MMP HOLDINGS Armed Response Team was immediately dispatched to investigate and secure the area.
On arrival, our response officers found a suspected cable theft suspect still at the scene and allegedly in the process of removing cables. The individual was apprehended by the responding team and subsequently handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation and the appropriate legal process.
This incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and rapid communication with security providers. The timely call from the resident enabled our Control Room and Armed Response Team to respond swiftly and potentially prevent further damage and loss to critical infrastructure.
MMP HOLDINGS SECURITY remains committed to protecting the Miami Sands community through proactive patrols, armed response, effective Control Room monitoring and close cooperation with law-enforcement stakeholders.

MMP Holdings Responds Swiftly to Suspected Theft Incident in Biensen
For Immediate Release
Miami Sands, South Africa | 4 September 2026
MMP Holdings confirms that its patrol and response officers recently responded to a suspected theft incident involving equipment belonging to a resident in the Miami Sands community.
While conducting patrols in the area, an MMP Holdings officer observed a suspect in circumstances that raised concerns regarding the possible theft of property. The officer confronted the individual, who denied having stolen any equipment.
Following the intervention, the suspect was searched, and grinders believed to be among the items reported stolen were found in his possession.
MMP officers subsequently took the suspect and the recovered equipment to the owner of the property. Upon inspection, the owner confirmed that the equipment belonged to her and had been stolen.
The suspect was then taken, together with the owner of the recovered property, to the South African Police Service (SAPS), where the owner formally opened a criminal case. The recovered equipment was secured and returned to the rightful owner through the appropriate process.
MMP Holdings is pleased that its patrol officers were able to respond promptly, secure the suspected stolen property and ensure that the matter was handed over to SAPS for proper investigation and legal action.
