Sage was my dog friend for 12 years. Her sudden passing caused a great deal of pain within me. For days I mourned. My time filled with flashes of happiness but now painful memories. To ease my discomfort my friend Mike Freedman suggested I write about my anguish. Unfortunately, 1713 words is too long for Facebook. We nurtured her for a couple of months, catching flies. Her wee husband also ran around trying to fatten her up, making sure she was healthy on due date of her delivery. Sadly, a birdie spotted her behind Bonnie’s baking shack and she was gone. his, hic, hic.


The golden orb spider is so named because of the colour of its silk. ... A female golden orb spider can have an abdomen of up to 30mm long. She dwarfs the tiny 5mm male in both size and weight. In almost all nephila species the male is in danger of being devoured by the female after mating.
