Introducing Stop & Shop Community Thrift Store

We are excited to officially introduce our Stop & Shop Community Thrift Store at Badisa Bellville South.

Our shop offers a variety of affordable items including clothing, shoes, books, bedding and household goods — with prices starting from just R10.

Every purchase helps support our statutory social work services for vulnerable children in our community.

🕒 Trading Hours:
• Tuesdays: 09:00 – 12:00
• Thursdays: 12:00 – 14:00

Today we celebrate Social Work Day 🤍

A day to honour the hearts that show up, even on the hardest days.
The ones who listen without judgement, advocate without fear, and stand in the gap for those who need it most.

Social work is not just a profession, it is compassion in action. It is late calls, heavy stories, small victories, and the quiet strength to keep going.

To every social worker/auxiliary making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children, families, and communities — thank you. Your work may not always be seen, but its impact is felt every single day.

Let us continue to serve with purpose, kindness, and hope.

💙 “The Lord is my Shepherd.” – Psalm 23 - Care that leads to still blue waters.
Psalm 23 reminds us of a God who cares deeply for His people, a Shepherd who leads us to places of rest beside still waters and restores our souls.

This March, as we reflect on the theme of Care, we remember that true care means walking alongside others, guiding them toward safety, hope, and healing.

At Badisa, rooted in the Dutch Reformed Church (NG Kerk) and the Uniting Reformed Church (VG Kerk), we strive to reflect this same shepherd care — supporting children, families, older persons and communities who need a helping hand.

💙 Because care means helping people find safe places, calm waters, and renewed hope.

Vandag vier ons nie net ’n verjaarsdag nie, maar ook die mens agter die leierskap.

Baie geluk met jou verjaarsdag, Basie. Dankie dat jy Badisa met integriteit, wysheid en ’n oop hart lei. Jy lei nie net van voor nie – jy maak ook tyd om stil te staan, te luister, te gesels en werklik met mense op elke vlak te skakel.

Dankie dat jy so vrygewig van jouself gee – van jou tyd, jou energie en jou menswees. Dit maak ’n verskil in ons organisasie en in die gemeenskappe wat ons saam dien.
