‼️ [KUWAIT SEWERAGE UPDATE] ‼️

We would like to inform students and residents of Kuwait Residences that it has been confirmed that the contractor will be on site this morning to address the ongoing sewage spill.

The new pumps have been collected by the contractor, and the process of installing and inserting the pumps will commence today as part of the efforts to resolve the sewage issue.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide further updates on the progress of the work until the matter is fully resolved.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and the delays experienced thus far, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work towards resolving this matter.

🎉CHC CHILLAS SESSION 🥳

Earlier today, the Central Housing Committee (CHC) hosted a fun-filled Chillas Session with our Housecoms . The session was all about relaxing, connecting and having a good time together through different games and fun activities.

From the friendly competition to the laughter and unforgettable moments, it was a great opportunity for everyone to take a break from the usual residence responsibilities and simply enjoy each other’s company.

A special CONGRATULATIONS to our Housecom of the Semester, MISHY! This recognition celebrates your dedication, commitment and contribution to residence life. Keep shining and leading .

A huge thank you to everyone who came through and participated. Your energy and participation made the Chillas Session a success. We truly appreciate you all.

Congratulations to all the teams for your hard work, commitment and sportsmanship throughout the Res League. Your efforts truly paid off.

As you receive your vouchers, we kindly encourage you to use them wisely and responsibly. Please ensure that every member of the team benefits equally from the voucher. The prize is a reflection of the collective effort of the entire team, so no team member should be left out.

We also kindly remind all three teams to compile and submit a report to the Residence League Committee. The report should reflect how the voucher was utilised and provide an overview of the team’s experience and participation in the league.

Lastly, a special thank you to the Residence League Committee for continuously pushing and following up to ensure that these vouchers were finally released to the deserving teams. Your efforts and commitment are truly appreciated. 🙏🏽

‼️WINDOWS REPLACEMENT UPDATE ‼️🪟

The CHC would like to inform students that the company responsible for the replacement and installation of windows is continuing with the work across residences.

Residences captured so far:

1. Wesley ✅
2. Nkandla ✅
3. Student Village Cluster 1 (1.1, 1.2 & 1.3) ✅
4. Student Village 2.1 ✅
5. Beda Ferguson ✅
6. Beda 1 ✅

Please note that rooms are being prioritised first to address the most urgent needs. Kitchens and bathrooms will be attended to last as the work progresses.

The CHC will continue monitoring the process and keep students updated on further developments.

‼️HYDROBOILERS INSTALLATION UPDATE‼️

The process of Hydroboilers installation is continuing across residences. The CHC remains on the ground monitoring the progress to ensure that the installations are carried out accordingly.

📍SUICIDE AWARENESS HIKE ⛰️

The Central Housing Committee (CHC) encourages all male students to support and participate in the Su***de Awareness Hike hosted by the SCU Men’s Mental Health on Saturday, 12 September 2026.

The CHC will be part and parcel of this important initiative as we join fellow students in promoting mental health awareness, open conversations and support for one another.

‼️[HAPPENING NOW]‼️

The installation of Hydroboilers and maintenance work is currently continuing today. The team is presently on the ground at Jolobe 1, attending to the identified issues.

After completing the work at Jolobe 1, the team will proceed to Student Village.

Priority is being given to residences that do not have hydroboilers at all, to ensure that those without any units are attended to first.

The CHC will continue to monitor the progress of the work and provide further updates as the process continues.

‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE‼️

GREETING ALICE CAMPUS STUDENTS

This is to inform all Alice Campus students that two companies will be working concurrently on the replacement of windows across our residences.

The first company will commence work today at Nkandla, then proceed to Beda 1 & 2, followed by Ferguson, and thereafter move to Student Village.

The second company will be working on finalising the remaining residences on the Men’s Side.

The CHC will continue to monitor the progress and keep students updated on developments.
