HO. A medical doctor, where he was a product of the University of Sana'a where he had his Bachelor of General Medicine and Surgery. Master & Doctorate degrees in Otolaryngology ENT surgery from Suez Canal University in Egypt. Dr Qasem started his working as general physician at September 26 Hospital in Ma'rib Governorate from 1998 – 2002. Then he was a Senior Specialist in Otolaryngology, ENT diseases at Suez Canal University Hospital from 2005 – 2010 in Egypt. Following his studies and working, he returned to Yemen to support the delivery of specialized health services as a consultant in ENT diseases in Sana'a - Yemen. And from 2012 to 2020, he has worked extensively in Saudi Arabia as well as Doha Qatar as a senior consultant in Otolaryngology ENT diseases at various hospitals. During his working life – from general physician to senior consultant to minister of health – has been about fighting for the rights of others. He also has two contributions to scientific research, evaluation of clinical parameters in patients with obstructive sleep apnea and their possible association with disease severity – 2005. And eardrum grafting with the amniotic membrane compared with grafting using the temporal fascia – 2010. As Minister of Health, he led a comprehensive reform of the country’s health system, built on the foundation of universal health coverage and provision of services to all people, even in the most remote areas.
