You will not see my name on this primary ballot because no other Democrat filed to run against me.

You will see my name on the ballot in November and that is the election that will decide who serves as your next District Court Judge.

Between now and then, I’ll keep doing what this community has trusted me to do for more than a decade:

In District Court.
Across all five counties.
Handling every type of case that comes through the courtroom.
Doing the work.

I’m proud of where I come from.
I’m proud of the work I’ve done.
And I’m ready to serve this district from the bench.

I officially filed to run in the 2026 election for District Court Judge, serving Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell, and Washington counties. This judicial seat serves all five counties, meaning every voter across the district has a voice in who serves on that bench.

District Court is where the justice system meets everyday life. It is where families come to resolve custody and support issues, where criminal charges are heard, where civil disputes are decided, and where outcomes follow people long after they leave the courtroom.

I am in these courtrooms every day. I see children and adults standing at real crossroads. I see parents facing difficult moments. I see victims waiting to be heard. These are situations where careful judgment, experience, and steadiness matter.

I am the first in my family to graduate from college. I earned my degree from East Carolina University and my law degree from North Carolina Central University. After law school, I made a deliberate decision to return home. In 2013, I opened my own law firm in Washington County and built it from the ground up while representing individuals, families, and local businesses in District Court.

My professional and public service experience has prepared me for this responsibility. I served two terms as a County Commissioner for Washington County. I taught family law and public policy as an adjunct professor at East Carolina University. I am board certified in Juvenile Delinquency Law by the North Carolina State Bar, a distinction held by fewer than fifteen attorneys statewide.

For more than a decade, I have handled the full range of cases that come before District Court. This is not theory for me. It is the work I do every day.

I believe our communities deserve a District Court Judge who is prepared, steady, and fair. A judge who applies the law consistently and understands that behind every file number is a real person and real consequences.

After much prayer and reflection, I am ready to serve. I would be honored to earn your trust and the opportunity to serve as your District Court Judge.
