Pottering about in the digital archives here at Trust Towers, and these images are from our 2015 visit to the Liverpool Archives. What we have here is not just a historical artefact, but an advert for that very artefact. We have a rather gaudy sample of chintz wallpaper. I wouldn't want to see a whole room covered in this. 😵‍💫

Just looking at this old'ish photo of the Parkside and the Huskisson Monument, and in the background, appears to be the old Parkside II and Wigan Junction station building. It doesn't seem that long ago, because that certainly looks like a yellow-nosed diesel passing it.

A Happy happenstance when we went to take some photographs of Huskisson's Mausoleum. We met someone who had the key to get inside, but not the height to reach the lock. We bartered access for services rendered. (we could reach the lock 🙂)[POD]

We have done a lot of work on our map of structures on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. This map is one of our Facebook pinned posts, but people on mobile devices don't see our pinned posts unless they dig into the settings. So, this may come as a complete revelation to those people.

The location of all the stations and original bridges along the Liverpool and Manchester Railway.

Back in 2018, we enjoyed a visit to Liverpool Museum's off-site Large Item Collection, where we inspected the replica 1st and 2nd class carriages built for the 1930 centenary celebrations in Wavertree Playground. In total, there were three of each class. The other four carriages are in the National Railway Museum's collection. Hopefully, this pair will be on display in 2030.

When we were running around photographing relevant structures, we were looking for this underwhelming structure in Rainhill, but couldn't find it. Apparently, it has been removed. These are images by our own Eric Shenton from 2017. The brass band around the edge had all but lost its detail at this point.
If anyone has any photos from when it was new, it would be nice to see what the band originally looked like.
