Every person has a story. Every family has a story. Every community has a story.

And behind so many of those stories are records that help document the moments that shape our lives.

A birth.
A marriage.
A home.
A business.
A legal matter.
A family legacy.

These records may look like paperwork, but behind every document is someone's life, someone's family, someone's future, or someone's history. You can often find these documents with the "other important papers" or underneath mattress at your parent's house. My mother still keeps my birth certificate, my original social security card, my high school diploma, old report cards and my baptismal certificate in her home under lock and key. Ironically, I do the same for my own children. 😂

That's why I believe the County Clerk's Office must be more than a place where documents are filed.

It should be a place where people receive professional service, accessible information, reliable records, and respectful assistance.

As your next Fort Bend County Clerk, I will continue to modernize existing protocols to make the Clerk's Office more efficient while protecting the integrity of the records entrusted to us.

I will lead with intentionality.
I will lead with a servant's heart.
I will lead with a prayerful spirit.

And I will lead with love.

Because government is ultimately about people serving people. It is also about "being of service" to people no matter who they are or where they come from.

🎣 Alright Fort Bend County anglers, I need your advice! 🎣

As many of you know, I grew up fishing with my grandma everyday. Recently, my grandma asked, “Where do people go fishing in Fort Bend County and what are they catching?”

My Cousin Avery and I love spending time on the water fishing, but we usually end up heading out to Conroe, The Woodlands, Baytown, Lake Houston, or Texas City to cast a line.

I know we have some incredible places right here at home, so I want to learn from the real local experts: YOU!

Whether you’re heading down to the Brazos River, casting off a pier at a local lake, or taking the kids out to a park over the weekend, I’d love to know your favorite places to unwind and fish in Fort Bend County. 🌊🐟

❤️ COMMON UNITY: A Message of Hope and Unity for Fort Bend

As we enter the next nine weeks leading up to the Midterm General Election in witnessing what is happening within our local government (Commissioners Court), I want to pause from the noise and remind us of something simple:

We are COMMUNITY.

And at the heart of that word are two words:

COMMON + UNITY.

I understand that everyone is doing the best they can to care for their families and navigate national, state, and local decisions. Many of us are frustrated and worried about what the next 2, 4, and 10 years will bring. I know many residents are also concerned about what is happening in our community and at Commissioners Court.

We are so quick to judge other groups by their worst examples while judging ourselves by our best intentions. We are also so quick to assume the worst in people we disagree with or who are different from ourselves. But if we pause, listen, and lead with compassion, we may discover that we share more in common than we realize.

I believe in Fort Bend because I believe in its people. Together, through love, unity, and a shared commitment to service, we can continue building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Fort Bend County for everyone.

Our community does not need perfection from one another. It needs patience, compassion, honest conversations, and a willingness to keep moving forward together—even when the path is difficult.

So I ask us to choose COMMON UNITY:

❤️ Love, not hate.
🕊️ Peace, not chaos.
🤝🏽 Acceptance, not simply tolerance.
🙏🏽 Grace when we don't get it right.
💛 Dignity for one another.

Because it's not only what we do—it is how we do it. We can only do, what we can do.

How we care for our neighbors.
How we serve our residents.
How we disagree.
How we lead.

No matter our race, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or whether we have faith or no faith—we share our humanity.

The gospel doesn't belong to a particular class, a party, or a platform.

The Bible reminds us:

“For there is no favoritism with God.” — Ephesians 6:9

The Qur'an reminds us:

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.” — Qur'an 49:13

The Torah also teaches:

“The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love the stranger as yourself.” — Leviticus 19:34

Different traditions, but a common reminder: our humanity is greater than our divisions.

Fort Bend, let's choose hope, unity, and a renewed commitment to making our county better—together.

Let's pray for our families, our neighbors, our residents, and our elected officials.

Let's disagree without demeaning one another.
Let's hold one another accountable without hatred.
Let's give one another grace and dignity.
Let's work together with love and purpose for the future of Fort Bend County.

If we take the time to listen in order to understand, and show one another love, patience, and compassion, we will learn more fully what it means to be proud members of this community, this state, and this nation.

We have more in COMMON than we sometimes remember.

Let's find our COMMON.
Let's build our UNITY.
Let's strengthen our COMMUNITY.

We can't tear each other apart. We can't tear our county apart. Our disagreements must not become greater than our shared responsibility to care for one another and protect the future of Fort Bend County.

With warmth. With love. With grace. With hope. And With Trusting God. ❤️

Residents deserve to be treated with:
Respect. Dignity. Patience. Professionalism.

I will promote a culture where serving residents is at the center of the Clerk's Office.

When residents walk into a county office, call for assistance, or search for information online, they should feel like their government is there to help them.

Customer service is public service.

As County Clerk, I will prioritize a professional and respectful culture where employees have the tools, training, and support necessary to provide residents with excellent service.

I believe good government is not just about completing a transaction. It's about how we treat people while doing it.

Residents deserve to be heard.
Residents deserve clear answers.
Residents deserve to be treated with dignity.
