Today, alongside the Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Akpe, I inspected the ongoing Ekeremor–Ndoro–Agge Road project in Ekeremor Local Government Area.

I am indeed pleased with the progress made so far and the commitment shown by the contractors.

What I saw today further assures me that the project is on track. I have encouraged the contractors to maintain the current pace and ensure timely delivery.

This road is a major step towards opening up our communities and improving the lives of our people in Bayelsa West Senatorial District. Our goal remains to connect Bayelsans and create opportunities through critical infrastructure.
Development remains at the heart of everything we do.

I thank the people of Ekeremor for their support and patience. Together, we will continue to build a more prosperous, connected, and greater Bayelsa.

This afternoon at the 188th State Executive Council meeting, I assented to two very important bills recently passed by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly: the bill for the establishment of an Agency for People with Disability and that for the Bayelsa Medical University Teaching Hospital (BMUTH), Imgbi road, Yenagoa.

Let me appreciate Mr. Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere and other members of the State Assembly for the timely passage of the bills. I am delighted that the new law, will protect our brothers and sisters with disabilities from all forms of discrimination and harmful treatment in society.

Again, the establishment of BMUTH has further strengthened our resolve to make the medical university a worthy training ground that enhances students' practical and laboratory experience.

Nembe-Brass Road: I feel accomplished!

Today, in my usual way, I visited the site of the ongoing construction of the 21km Nembe-Brass road project Phase 1 to inspect the progress of work.

I am super excited about the various bridge constructions across the Kiberi River, Nembe Four Creek and others including the culverts along the stretch.

Also, driving on the sand-filled section of the road to the famous St. Nicholas River in Brass Local Government Area remains a dream come true.

With this, our journey to the Brass Island will now be less than 20 minutes by water as we await the same progress of work on Phase 2 of the Nembe-Brass road project awarded by the Federal Government. Let me appreciate Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for this gesture to address some of the development yearnings of our people.

Once again, I restate that our Government of Assured Prosperity will not play politics with the development of our people.

Many thanks to the contracting firm handling the job, Setraco, for the commitment and I am so happy the company is a willing partner in our stride to tame this “difficult terrain.”

Today, 4th of June, remains a special day in my life, a blessed day of my birth. In line with my personal principles, I have never been known for a loud celebration and I do not encourage anyone to do otherwise on my behalf.

Long before I became the governor, I had kept my birthday very private and it has remained so, since I came into office. It is usually a day of deep reflection, a time to commune with my creator in prayer.

I humbly thank you all for the good wishes and my humble request is for you to join me in prayers for sound health, wisdom, joy in my family and the State.

Let me assure our people that I remain committed to the service and progress of our dear State. Our Government of Assured Prosperity is bequeathing to our people enduring legacies that will stand the threshold of history. Thank you for the love.

Today, I celebrate every child on the occasion of the 2026 National Children’s Day, with our commitment to promote their rights, prioritise their welfare, and provide them with quality education.

As a father myself, I fully appreciate the heavy responsibility of raising children with honour, ensuring they uphold discipline and strong moral values.

With the theme: “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child”, our Government of Assured Prosperity has continued to invest massively in programmes and projects that directly impact our teeming youthful population.

We are very deliberate in building the future of the children with our educational innovation including the shift in the secondary curriculum to skills-based studies, which has led to the establishment of science, technical and vocational colleges across the State.

We are progressively building a virile state where every child can access equal opportunities, dream boldly, grow safely, and thrive without discrimination.

As a government, we are very conscious of the fact that children are the pride of this great State. and our nation’s most valuable investment. They truly represent the future.

As we honour them on this special children’s day, may God continue to protect you for a greater future ahead. I say a hearty congratulations to you all!

Bayelsa APC Presidential Primaries: President Tinubu is our choice

This afternoon, I joined party members in my Sampou/Kalama Ward 6 of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area to vote for our Presidential candidate in next year’s general election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Here in Bayelsa State, our party leaders and stakeholders have resolved to stand firmly with Mr. President to return him for another term in office.

As the Co-ordinator/Collation Officer for the Presidential Primaries in the state, party members across the 105 wards of the state have voted massively for the President to fly the flag of our great party.

With a vote of 277,192 by party members from the direct primaries, President Tinubu, is our choice in Bayelsa as the Presidential Candidate of APC.

I appreciate party members, leaders and key stakeholders for their trust and overwhelming support to our leader and the pathfinder of the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Mr. President remains the best choice for Nigeria at this time to continue with his economic reforms and political restructuring of the country.

The people of Bayelsa State are indeed grateful to President Tinubu, for being a good friend of the State and for identifying with the development and progress of the State.

Congratulations Mr. President, on our choice in the 2027 general election. Working together with our party leaders and key stakeholders, including members of the National Assembly, the Minister of state for Petroleum (Oil), Sen Heineken Lokpobiri, the MD/CEO, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, MD/CEO, NDBDA, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, Bayelsa will deliver all APC candidates in the election.

It was a historic moment this morning at the maiden combined convocation of the Bayelsa State Polytechnic, Aleibiri in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the State.

Established in 2014 and commencing academic activities in the 2019/2020 session, the Polytechnic is in line with the shift in our educational curriculum towards science, technical, and vocational programmes to empower students with skills.

I am happy with the formal relocation of the institution to its original site in Aleibiri town, and I am even more excited that all programmes presented for full and interim accreditation received approval from the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE).

Let me congratulate the Governing Council, Management, academic and non-academic staff and the students on today’s milestone and success story. Again, a hearty congratulations to the 413 graduands who have been found worthy in character and learning to be awarded National Diploma and Higher National Diploma degrees.

As a government, while I acknowledge the Tetfund, other intervention agencies and the host community for their support, we will continue to invest in the infrastructural development of the institution to enable it to meet its core objectives.

In furtherance of this, I have directed relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the implementation of my promises to the school including the provision of two coaster buses, perimeter fencing of the Polytechnic, provision of additional classrooms and other basic facilities. That is our commitment!

To the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Wisdom Clinton Soreh, I appreciate your steadfastness and dedication in this pioneering effort to build the institution and I say congratulations on the success story.

Today, in continuation of our party’s primaries, I joined members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in my Sampou/Kalama Ward 6 to elect our House of Assembly candidate for Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 1, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The massive turnout is an indication that the House of Assembly election is truly a grassroots election, very close to the people.

Following our consensus arrangement, the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Werinipre Pamoh, has been given the nod to return for a second term.

Let me appreciate our leaders and stakeholders across the state for their show of understanding and support in ensuring an orderly and peaceful process.

Our party is gearing up for a landslide victory across the 24 State Constituencies in the 2027 general election in the State.
