Captain Bradley Edward Walters March 4, 1974 to August 16. 2007 Captain Bradley Edward Walters, 33 passed away August 16, 2007 when his Marine helicopter went down in the Californian mountains during a routine training exercise, Brad was born March 4, 1974 in Richardson, Texas and was raised in Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Arlington High school in 1992 and received his Bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the Citadel in 1998. After being commissioned as an office in the United states Marine Corps, he completed flight training at Naval Air Station Pensacola and was stationed at Marine Corp Air Station Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. He was assigned to the Marine Light Helicopter Attack squadron 367. Brad completed three deployments while in California, serving in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently stationed at Marine Corp Air Station in Yuma, Arizona, Brad flew UH-IN "Huey" helicopters and C12 planes for Search and Rescue. Brad is survived by his wife of seven years, Julie Brigman Walters and an infant daughter Catherine Elise Walters of Yuma, Arizona; his parents, Jeannine Walters, Richard "Rick" and Valerie Walters, all of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Victoria "Vicki" Junaid and Alexandra "Andi" Walters of Arlington, Texas, and Jennifer Walters of Missoula, Montana; and brother, Christopher "Chris Walters of Arlington, Texas. The family will be receiving friends at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis, North Carolina on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday August 25, 2007 at 2pm at Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis. If desired, contributions in lieu of flowers may be mailed to A.A. 18 years ago tonight August 15, 2007 my brother and his crew SARS Unit USMC Yuma never returned home to only be found after midnight of August 16th 2007 crashed in a washout in thr California mountains.

His daughter born 6 months before his passing and now on she is on her way to her 1st year in college. Time has gone by fast but the memories of you are daily. Then adding to the heartache was the loss of our father in November 2024.

Just read this on my brother's FB page our dad created. I keep learning new stories and every so often a new photo arrives, I cherish these as there is never new photos or new moments. I cant believe the date exactly 13 years later he lost his life. Very sad, so many accomplishments in such a short amount of time. Love you Bradley
