The Seventh-day Adventist fellowship was successfully conducted at the Sarangani Provincial Jail (SPJ) Chapel, bringing together Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in a meaningful gathering of faith, worship, and spiritual reflection. The activity provided an opportunity for the PDLs to strengthen their relationship with God through prayer, Bible-based teachings, inspirational messages, and fellowship with members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The religious service aimed to nurture the spiritual well-being of the PDLs, encouraging hope, repentance, personal transformation, and a renewed sense of purpose. Through the sharing of God's Word, participants were reminded of the importance of faith, perseverance, and positive values as they continue their rehabilitation journey.

Jum'ah Prayer at Sarangani Provincial Jail

The Muslim Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of Sarangani Provincial Jail and personnel solemnly gathered for their weekly Jum'ah Prayer (Sambayang), demonstrating their unwavering faith, spiritual discipline, and commitment to religious observance despite being within a correctional facility.

The sacred gathering provided an opportunity for the Muslim PDLs to strengthen their relationship with Allah through prayer, reflection, and fellowship. During the observance, participants listened attentively to the Khutbah (sermon), which emphasized the values of repentance, gratitude, patience, peace, and moral transformation. The activity also served as a source of spiritual guidance, encouraging the PDLs to continue their journey toward personal reform and positive change.

Under the leadership of Sarangani Provincial Jail Warden PMAJ Marcelo A. Mendoza (Ret.), OIC Chief PSG, the facility remains steadfast in upholding the religious rights and welfare of all PDLs by providing opportunities for faith-based activities that nurture spiritual growth and rehabilitation.

The regular conduct of Jum'ah prayers highlights the jail's commitment to a holistic correctional approach, recognizing the important role of faith and spirituality in fostering hope, character development, and successful reintegration into society.

Through such religious programs, the Muslim PDLs are empowered to cultivate inner peace, strengthen their values, and remain guided on the path toward becoming productive and law-abiding members of the community.

Sarangani Provincial Jail PDLs Conduct Organic Vegetable Garden Maintenance and Harvest

Under the guidance of Sarangani Provincial Jail Warden PMAJ Marcelo A. Mendoza (Ret.)/OIC PSG Chief, the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of Sarangani Provincial Jail actively participated in the regular maintenance and harvesting activities of the facility's organic vegetable garden.

The activity aimed to promote productivity, self-sufficiency, and environmental stewardship among the PDLs while enhancing their agricultural skills through hands-on learning. Participants diligently carried out weeding, watering, soil cultivation, and other essential garden maintenance tasks to ensure the healthy growth of various vegetable crops.

Following the maintenance work, the PDLs successfully harvested fresh and nutritious vegetables, reflecting the fruits of their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. The harvested produce contributes to the facility's food sustainability program, providing fresh ingredients for meal preparation while reducing operational costs.

This initiative forms part of the jail's continuing rehabilitation and livelihood programs, encouraging PDLs to develop valuable skills, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and foster a positive work ethic.

Through activities such as organic farming, the Sarangani Provincial Jail remains committed to promoting holistic development and meaningful transformation among its PDLs.
