What we witnessed with the State of the Union address was simply a bunch of lies. What people need is transparency. Donald Trump flaunted his version of a strong, growing economy, while families in America are working multiple jobs to afford their groceries and pay their bills. This is a harsh reality many Americans face, and what Donald Trump has begun doing has been in favor of those who have the most, and not in favor of the middle class. We are tired of seeing politicians play games with our lives while students are drowning in student loan debt, attempting to save for a house, and working multiple jobs. We also heard the President of the United States falsely claim he should be in the middle of his third term. This just goes to show the threat he is to American democracy; he constantly refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election. The president’s disregard for checks and balances is horrifying. In Washington County, Maryland, Democrats are fighting every day to ensure you can afford to take care of yourself and provide for your family, ensuring our streets are safe, and our students are cared for.
