Layunin nitong bigyang-pansin ang mahahalagang isyung nakaaapekto sa mga batang babaeng Pilipino—tulad ng adolescent pregnancy, child and early marriage, HIV at iba pang STIs, at responsableng pagpapamilya.

Katuwang ang Council for the Welfare of Children at lahat ng ahensya ng pamahalaan, patuloy ang Philippine Commission on Women sa pagsulong ng mga polisiya at programang magtataguyod ng karapatan, proteksyon, at kapakanan ng mga batang babae tungo sa isang ligtas, malaya, at pantay na kinabukasan.

The 1st Quarter Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) Meeting was successfully conducted to discuss updates, reports, and plans in maintaining peace and order in the municipality. During the meeting, the PNP, BFP, and Philippine Army presented their accomplishment reports and updates, along with discussions on the municipality’s anti-illegal drug programs and activities.

The council also presented the 2026 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan and reviewed the status of the 2026 POC and ADAC Audit. The activity strengthened coordination and collaboration among partner agencies and stakeholders in promoting a safe, peaceful, and drug-free community.

In just twelve days, we will officially launch Women’s Month, a period dedicated to honoring the leadership and vital contributions of women in public service and community building.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) remains steadfast in its mission to foster gender equality and inclusive governance.

ALAM N'YO BA? | MAS PINATITIBAY NA ANG KINABUKASAN NG BATANG PILIPINO!

Alam n’yo ba na mas lalong pinalalakas ngayon ng DILG at ng Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council ang mga programa sa bawat barangay patungkol sa ating mga kabataan?

Sa unang taon ng ECCDC sa ilalim ng pamamahala ng DILG, target nitong masiguro na walang batang maiiwan pagdating sa dekalidad na edukasyon at pangangalaga, lalo na sa mga low-income communities.

Narito ang mga dapat nating abangan:
• Upgrade para sa Lahat: Ang mga dating daycare centers ay gagawing full-pledged Child Development Centers.
• Mas Pinagandang Curriculum: Layunin na i-akma ang National Early Learning Curriculum sa DepEd para mas handa ang mga bata sa pag-aaral.
• Suporta sa LGUs: Tutulungan ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na makakuha ng pondo sa pamamagitan ng Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).
• Para sa mga Workers: Magkakaroon ng skills development at permanenteng plantilla positions para sa ating mga Child Development Workers.

Sa kasalukuyan, mayroon nang 78,000 ECD Centers sa buong bansa, at layunin ng pamahalaan na gawing "child-friendly" ang lahat ng ito alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

READ | DILG DIRECTS BFP TO IMPLEMENT BODY-WORN CAMERA USE IN FIRE SAFETY INSPECTIONS

In line with the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has implemented the mandatory use of Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs) during fire safety inspections nationwide.

Under the policy, fire safety inspections are recorded from start to finish. Recording begins upon issuance of the body-worn camera at the fire station and continues during travel, the actual inspection, discussion of findings, and until the camera is formally turned over to the station custodian.

Upon arrival at an establishment, the Fire Safety Enforcer states on video their name and rank, location, date and time, nature of inspection, and the name of the establishment. The owner or representative is informed that the inspection is being recorded and may also take their own video.

Establishment owners may request, in writing, a copy of the inspection video within seven working days from the date of inspection through the City or Municipal Fire Marshal with jurisdiction.

The policy reiterates that Fire Safety Enforcers are strictly prohibited from recommending, selling, or endorsing any particular brand of fire safety equipment, in accordance with the Fire Code of the Philippines and the Ease of Doing Business law.

During the inspection, the body-worn camera documents fire exits, fire safety equipment, and other required safety measures, including the explanation of findings. For non-compliant establishments, inspectors are required to clearly explain deficiencies, required corrective actions, and possible penalties, all of which are recorded.
Fire Safety Enforcers are personally accountable for the proper use of body-worn cameras. Any unjustified failure to record, interruption of recording, or tampering with recorded footage constitutes misconduct.

After the inspection, recorded videos are turned over to the station custodian and uploaded to a secured system within 24 hours. Inspectors are prohibited from accessing, editing, deleting, or manipulating the recordings once turned over.

The DILG said the policy aims to ensure consistency, accountability, and proper documentation in the conduct of fire safety inspections. The BFP affirmed its full implementation of the directive in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

READ | DILG to LGUs, Bicolanos in high-risk areas: Evacuate, enforce no entry in danger zones amid Mayon unrest

Following DOST-PHIVOLCS’ raising of Mayon Volcano’s alert status to Alert Level 3, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Tuesday urged local government units (LGUs) and residents in high-risk areas to immediately evacuate and prohibit entry within the permanent danger zone (PDZ) as the Mayon Volcano exhibits signs of eruption.

According to the latest Mayon Volcano Bulletin, the volcano has exhibited signs of unrest since January 1, including the continuous collapse of its summit lava dome. This activity has resulted in 346 rockfall events, 4 volcanic earthquakes, and several pyroclastic density currents (PDCs). These indicate that an effusive magmatic eruption or the steady flow of lava onto the surface is in progress.

In an advisory, the DILG called on the LGUs to heighten vigilance and sustain close monitoring of Mayon’s activities through their respective local Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) councils. Strict implementation of the Operation L!STO Protocols for Volcanic Eruption should also be observed to ensure that critical preparedness measures are in place.

LGUs are directed to enforce immediate evacuation within the 6-kilometer PDZ to safeguard lives, both human and animal, against the risk of lava flow surges, rockfalls, and other volcanic activities. Areas within this zone must be declared as off-limits. Those residing within a 7 to 8-km radius should be prepped for possible evacuation in the event of progressive volcanic activity.

LGUs were also urged to remain alert for pyroclastic density currents, lahar and sediment-laden streamflows along channels draining the edifice. The DILG warned that heavy rainfall could trigger channel-confined lahar and sediment-laden streamflows in channels where PDC deposits have accumulated.

To ensure efficient coordination and response, the DILG instructed LGUs to activate their Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) on a 24/7 basis and strengthen collaboration with the provincial government and regional DRRMC.

Furthermore, LGUs were advised to establish and strictly implement the critical preparedness actions based on Operation L!STO Protocols for Volcanic Eruption - Mayon Volcano and their respective contingency plans to guide necessary response measures.

The DILG Region V office is in close coordination with local DRRM units to ensure adherence to minimum preparedness measures. This supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for proactive disaster response with LGUs in the front.
