Congratulations to the Texas Senate on passing Constitutional Carry. We encourage the House to accept the bill as amended and send it to the Governor to be signed into law.

Now one step closer to becoming law, the Texas Senate approved a constitutional carry bill to allow the carry of handguns in public without a License to Carry.

Texas House of Representatives To Consider Constitutional Carry:

HB 1927 is an excellent bill which would enact "constitutional carry" in Texas. This would allow anyone who is not legally prohibited from carrying a handgun to do so without first needing to obtain a license from the state. Requiring a license to carry is an infringement on the constitutional rights of Texans. Abolishing this impediment to the free exercise of rights protected by the Second Amendment would be a great victory for liberty in Texas. We support HB 1927.

The Iowa law allows people to purchase or carry concealed handguns without first obtaining a permit. The permit system remains, but is now optional.
