City Hall will be closed for city related business on May 19th, 2026. This is to allow our building to be used for the primary election. If you need to make a water payment, you may use the drop box located behind City Hall or you can make online payments at cityofmortonsgapky.com. We will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th.

We've had some customers who are calling and stating that they are not receiving their bills. I would like to let you know that I am sending bills out at the same time I always have, to ensure they are out in the mail by the 1st of each month. If you are not receiving your bills, that is an issue with the postal service. Bills are due on the 15th of every month (unless it falls on a weekend or holiday). If it is not paid by the 15th, a penalty of 15% is added. That past due amount is due by the 25th of each month. If it's not paid before or on the 25th (unless it falls on a weekend or holiday), water services will be disconnected and a $50 reconnection fee will be added to your account. Once we have mailed out bills, it is out of our hands, and we are not responsible for making sure they get delivered. If you do not receive your bill, please call us at 270-258-5362 to find out what is owed. You will be responsible for paying those penalties and fees even if your bill didn't make it to your mailbox, so make a note on your calendar or set a reminder in your phone to give us a call by a certain day if you haven't received your bill. We are open 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday. If you are registered to receive text alerts from us then you should be receiving reminders from that as well. If you are not receiving our text alerts and would like to, please use the information below to signup!

We attended a Career Signing Day for Hopkins County Seniors for our very own William Carter! 🌟 Will has been our co-op student since December. We are excited for Will's future as he's eager to learn more about our water and sewer department. Congrats Will!!! 💫

If or when the storm alarm goes off in Mortons Gap the First Baptist Church at 121 E. Walnut St. will be open for shelter. You can use the back door as the entrance. There is also handicapped accessibility for those in a wheelchair or who need assistance to get down into the basement. Just let Mr. Perkins know when you get there that you need that service.

The dumpster will be emptied soon. They will pick it up on Monday so you have all weekend to use it!

Mortons Gap will have a dumpster available to citizens of Mortons Gap starting on Monday, April 13th. The dumpster will be available at the park until Friday, April 17th. However, after the dumpster is filled twice it will be removed from the site. Please remember that no household trash, tires, paint, oils, free liquids or landscaping material should be placed in these dumpsters. We will be monitoring via security cameras, and anyone caught violating these rules will be charged accordingly. Please share!
