Can you give the name of this submarine escape appliance seen here in 1963 at the U.S. Naval Submarine School?

The hood is attached to a submarine life jacket. Expanding air from within the life jacket passes through the hood to ventilate it and keep it expanded during the ascent. The escapee, with his head in the hood, has enough air available to breathe normally during his ascent.
