Happy new year to everyone, I have been quite all this year due to the fact that I've been fine tuning my own bushcraft skills (there's no graduation day in the woods, Horace Kephart). I hope everyone has a great 2019.

These are images of my all time favorite woodsman, Pasquinel a fictional character, from a 70'sTV show called Centennial . He was a coureur des bois (means one who runs in the woods or runner of the woods) the forerunner of the mountain men.

A WARRIORS THOUGHTS

Most big cities are vibrant with life
But take a close look; you’ll see trouble and strife
Gaze at the woods, when the mist comes down
A million miles from the dirty old town
A place for adventure, for the brave and the strong
Far away from the cities despairing throng.

You can talk to the fairies, and the guardians of trees
Smell the woodsmoke on the morning breeze
Or you can talk to people, as to where you should be
The city they’ll say, to make more money.

Working all week to earn your pay
Even weekends are normal they say
Work till you drop at sixty five
Carry on till you’re seventy, if you survive.

Not for me a warrior born
To be told by these people what is the norm
Death, my advisor says to me
Live for today and then you’ll see
The beauty in life and how to be free
Out in the woods, that are calling to me.
