Gwadar is one of the few planned cities in Pakistan (others being Faisalabad, Jauharabad, and Islamabad), which have been developed from scratch under an urban master plan. Prior to its development as a port city, the town was a fishing village.

چینی قونصل جنرل لی بیجیان نے کہا ہے کہ چین ۔ پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (سی پیک) کے تحت زیادہ تر منصوبے مکمل ہوچکے ہیں جبکہ گوادر خطے میں بہت زیادہ اہمیت اختیار کر گیا ہے۔

ڈان اخبار کی رپورٹ کے مطابق کورنگی ایسوسی ایشن آف ٹریڈ اینڈ انڈسٹری (کاٹی) کے دفتر کے دورے کے دوران چینی قونصل جنرل نے کہا کہ چین نے ہوائی اڈے، تربیتی مرکز اور گوادر سمیت مختلف منصوبوں میں سرمایہ کاری کی ہے۔

کاٹی سے جاری بیان کے مطابق لی بیجیان نے کہا کہ ’مجھے خوشی ہے کہ سی پیک کی وجہ سے پاکستان میں بجلی کا بحران ختم ہو گیا ہے، گوادر ہوائی اڈے کا ترقیاتی کام 90 فیصد مکمل ہو چکا ہے اور امید ہے کہ 2023 میں آپریشن شروع ہو جائے گا‘۔

سفارت کار نے کہا کہ گوادر میں ایک ہسپتال بھی تعمیر کیا جارہا ہے جو اگلے سال فعال ہو جائے گا
