Just a friendly reminder that mowing season is here. Please make sure your grass and w**ds are kept trimmed to avoid any violations. Thank you for helping keep our community looking its BEST!!!

Grass, w**ds, underbrush, or any w**d that is allowed to flower that reaches a height of eight inches or more is in violation.

The aerial photo of Dalton City was taken in Nov 1946 & appeared in our book "Moultrie Co. in the Steam Days". Dalton has had several fires that did considerable damage to their business district over the years. Prior to this photo there was a fire in 1936. Some of these buildings may have been built after that. Some names of business owners were Roy Phillips who owned Phillips & Son Grocery & John Lester also had a grocery store. Faye Draper operated a cafe and Burfurd Davis was the barber. Howard Reedy had an auto repair garage & Ed Tueth ran a filling station. George Ekiss & Pat Fogarty operated two of the grain elevators. Phoebe Nihiser was the telephone operator & Robert Zook was the mail carrier. Grace Morrison was the post mistress and Mabel Roney & Celeste Wright were the teachers at the school.
