Since I became Lieutenant Governor, I’ve believed that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
That belief has guided my work to reform Michigan’s juvenile justice system and make sure our systems help kids succeed—not set them up to fail.
Today, I was proud to celebrate the legacy of the Juvenile Justice Reform Task Force and the people who helped turn that vision into action. We’ve invested more than $53 million in reform, signed Clean Slate for Kids and Raise the Age, and expanded diversion and re-entry services.
There’s more work to do, and I’ll keep pushing for better systems and brighter futures for Michigan’s kids.
