Graduation season is here! This year, around 3,000 students will walk across the stage at the Tacoma Dome and into the next chapter of their lives. We are so proud of all of the graduates and thankful for the friends, family, and neighbors who helped them get to this milestone. If you're attending one of the ceremonies this summer, check out these helpful tips below. ⬇️

Graduation season has arrived at the Tacoma Dome, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the Class of 2026. Over the next three weeks, more than 8,000 graduates will cross the stage during 22 ceremonies, surrounded by over 70,000 family members, friends, and supporters cheering them on.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬:

🚗 | Arrive early! Allow ample time for parking, security screening, and entry, so you don't miss a moment of this special occasion.

👜 | Bags may only be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC, sized 12 "x6" x12" or smaller; small clutch purses are okay if sized 4.5 "x6.5" or smaller; one-gallon plastic storage bags are okay.

🔐 | Lockers are available for rent outside the venue for $10-$15 (card only, no cash).

♿ | Guests needing ADA accommodations may use any entrance, with the Lower NW Entrance recommended for easiest access. ADA parking and seating are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and early arrival is encouraged for the best availability.

📸 | Make sure to take advantage of our photo op near the Tacoma Dome Box Office after your ceremony.

🔷Grit City Role-Playing Game (RPG) League – a growing community that gathers to play tabletop role playing games
🔷Tacoma Stars – Tacoma’s own indoor soccer club with a long legacy and enthusiastic fan base
🔷Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (T.U.P.A.C) - a community art space rooted from the vision of founder Kabby Mitchell III

Last night, the Tacoma City Council proclaimed June 2026 as Fan Zone Month—celebrating the global excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and honoring the Puyallup Tribe of Indians as the first Native American tribe to serve as an Official Host City Supporter. Tacoma is proud to join regional partners in welcoming fans from around the world and showcasing the Tribe’s vibrant culture through Fan Zone events, celebrations, and community traditions that bring us together.

Today, Mayor Anders Ibsen officially launched Tidy-Up Tacoma: Summer 2026, marking the beginning of a renewed focus on cleaning up our city. City crews will be working hard along Tacoma’s major gateway corridors and visitor routes to pick up litter, clear roadside debris, and restore public spaces ahead of a big summer packed with graduations, parades, waterfront celebrations, and sporting events. He was joined by Council Member John Hines, Council Member Sandesh Sadalge, community member Andrea Haug from Litter Free 253, members of our Environmental Services team, and local business owners including Andrew Creighton from Brown and Haley and Deandrea Russell from the soon-to-open Orange Box Café to kick-off this major effort.

Tonight, the Tacoma City Council proclaimed June 2026 as Ride Transit Month, celebrating the essential services Pierce Transit and Sound Transit provide and their role in reducing congestion, cutting emissions, and expanding opportunity. Residents are encouraged to ride, support transit initiatives, and champion public transportation as a pathway to healthier, more connected, and more equitable communities—especially by increasing mobility and access for low-income residents, communities of color, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities.
