𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝘆𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺

On a recent date, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Balingasag District Jail conducted a Joint Greyhound Operation led by Acting Jail Warden SJO4 DODEE POLIDO DETALLA in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10, headed by MR. LOU MICHAEL BRANDON J ABARQUEZ.

The activity aimed to ensure that the jail facility remains drug-free and secure through a thorough inspection of the jail premises, including the dormitories and other areas frequently occupied by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). The operation was carried out systematically by the combined team from BJMP personnel and PDEA Region 10 operatives to detect and prevent the entry of illegal drugs and other contraband inside the facility.

Following the Greyhound Operation, the personnel from PDEA Region 10 conducted a Drug Awareness Symposium for both jail personnel and PDL. The symposium focused on educating participants about the dangers and effects of illegal drugs, the importance of maintaining a drug-free environment, and the government's continuing campaign against illegal substances.

Subsequently, a Drug Testing Activity was conducted among the Balingasag District Jail personnel and selected PDL to further strengthen the commitment of the facility in promoting a drug-free workplace and rehabilitation environment. The activity was conducted in an orderly manner under the supervision of the PDEA Region 10 team.

This collaborative activity highlights the strong partnership between BJMP and PDEA in supporting the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign and ensuring that the jail facility remains a safe, secure, and drug-free environment for everyone.

“𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲”

In line with the nationwide celebration of Women’s Month this March 2026, the Balingasag District Jail successfully conducted a meaningful Women’s Month Celebration spearheaded by our Acting Jail Warden, 𝗦𝗝𝗢𝟰 𝗗𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗲 𝗣 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮, together with the dedicated Balingasag District Jail personnel and the interns from St. Rita's College of Balingasag.

The activity was conducted within the jail facility with the primary objective of recognizing and honoring the invaluable role of women in society, particularly women personnel, female Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), and women stakeholders who continuously support the jail’s programs and activities. The celebration also aimed to promote gender equality, women empowerment, and awareness of women’s rights.

The activity concluded with a simple recognition and message of appreciation to all women participants, reinforcing the theme of empowerment, respect, and inclusivity. The Women’s Month Celebration served as a reminder that women play a vital role not only in their families but also in nation-building and institutional development.

The Balingasag District Jail remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold gender equality and continue implementing programs that support the welfare and empowerment of women within the facility.

𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚, 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤

In line with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s continuing commitment to support community health programs and humanitarian initiatives, personnel of the Balingasag District Jail actively participated in the Blood Letting Activity held at the Balingasag Municipal Gymnasium Balingasag, Misamis Oriental on February 14, 2026. The activity was spearheaded and supervised by our Acting Jail Warden, 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐋𝐘𝐍 𝐌 𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐋, whose leadership ensured the strong participation and orderly conduct of the jail personnel.

The said activity was organized by St. Rita’s College of Balingasag – 2001 Centennial Batch, in partnership with the Municipal Health Office of Balingasag, the Philippine Red Cross, and the Bayan ng Balingasag. The program aimed to promote voluntary blood donation, raise awareness on the importance of maintaining an adequate blood supply, and encourage public participation in life-saving initiatives.

Balingasag District Jail personnel willingly volunteered as blood donors, demonstrating their dedication not only to their duties in maintaining jail security and order but also to their role as responsible members of the community. Prior to donation, donors underwent proper medical screening and health assessment conducted by medical personnel to ensure their safety and suitability.

Overall, the Blood Letting Activity strengthened inter-agency cooperation and reinforced the Balingasag District Jail’s commitment to community service and humanitarian causes. The jail administration looks forward to participating in similar activities in the future as part of its continuing advocacy for public health and social responsibility.
