Hello!
My name is John DeWalle and I want to announce my candidacy for the Windsor School District Board of Education. As a community member, husband, the father of two graduates and one current student, as well as a career educator, I have a vested interest in the current and future success of our district.
My wife Tabitha and I chose to move into the Windsor School District 11 years ago. We have three sons, Michael, Daniel, and Joey. Michael and Daniel are graduates of Windsor, while Joey is currently a freshman. I completed a Bachelor's degree at the University of Missouri- St. Louis, Masters degrees at Lindenwood University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at St. Louis University. I have been employed by the Mehlville School District for the last 20 years, serving as a teacher, coach, administrator, and the current Director of College and Career Readiness. I have had the opportunity of visiting schools and programs across the country, those in very large and very small districts, evaluating what might be most impactful to our district, and being part of teams in developing plans to implement those ideas to our context. These experiences have allowed me to see what districts are doing regionally and throughout the county, and that knowledge could be beneficial for the Windsor School District as it focuses on forward goals and future goals.
I have decided to run for this position to utilize skills and knowledge gained via my education and through my career to serve the community in which I live. I wish to contribute to the ongoing strengthening of Windsor, helping to ensure the district remains future focused to benefit the students, families and the community. By supporting strong policies, effective curriculum and sound financial stewardship, Windsor will widely be viewed as a destination district, offering a variety of high quality academic and non-academic programs, producing consistent, high levels of student achievement. A place where families want to move, where people want to work, and where students achieve results.
I would like the opportunity to continue to work with the rest of the Board of Education to serve our district administration, teachers, staff, and the community. I would appreciate your vote on April 2nd, 2024.
Thank you for your support.
