HEART of Taos is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a VISION to demonstrate successful models of sustainable housing and community development that empower residents to achieve independence.

Requirements:
-Committed to HEART of Taos’ Vision
-Honest, Transparent, and Trustworthy
-18+ Years of Age
-10 - 15+ hours of volunteer time per month
-Attend board meetings

Preferred experience in the following areas:
Affordable Housing, Real Estate, Sustainable Building, Renewable Energy, Networking, Administration, Accounting, Legal, Fundraising, Event Planning, etc.

HEART knows that the Taos Hearth Model is the answer to homelessness and housing instability.

We want Taos Hearth to be the test model to show the community, government officials, and media how to build and create connections and healing.

Taos Hearth Projects:
Project 1- add a second bedroom to an existing one-bedroom home.
Project 2- Develop and build a new two-bedroom home.

Thank you to everyone who has supported HEART of Taos. We need your help again! Since launching our Family in Focus program in Nov 2024, we've helped 8 families from being homeless this Winter. We keep getting more requests, so please consider donating at taosheart.org/donate so we can help more Taos County families.

Family in Focus opened to Taos County families in Nov 2024 and has already helped 7 families - 14 children and 9 adults - to stay housed this winter.
