Fostering unity in local governance, Barangay Dalid held its Monday flag-raising ceremony, where Punong Barangay Hon. Juliet Susbilla stressed the importance of cooperation among elected and appointed officials in advancing community initiatives.

The ceremony was attended by elected and appointed barangay officials as part of the regular Monday observance of the national flag ceremony in government offices.

Susbilla called for elected and appointed officials to work together in pursuing the barangay’s programs, initiatives and other efforts aimed at serving the community and addressing the needs of its constituents.

The gathering provided an opportunity for barangay officials to reinforce coordination and a shared commitment to public service and community development.

The Monday flag-raising ceremony was conducted pursuant to the Rules and Regulations Implementing Republic Act No. 8491, which require government offices, including local government units, to hold flag-raising ceremonies every Monday morning.

DALID, SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Battling until the final buzzer, Zone 2 edged Zone 4, 89-88, Sept. 20 at the Barangay Dalid Covered Court to clinch a semifinal berth in the Dalid Inter-Zone Basketball Tournament.

With a spot in the semifinals at stake, both zones battled through a tightly contested matchup, with Zone 2 holding on to its one-point advantage to secure the crucial victory.

Joemar Gorantes powered Zone 2 with 29 points to earn Player of the Game honors and lead his team in the high-stakes matchup.

The narrow final score reflected the intensity of the contest, as Zone 2 held off Zone 4's challenge to keep its championship hopes alive.

With the victory, Zone 2 advances to the semifinal round, while Zone 4's campaign comes to an end.

DALID, SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Close matchups highlighted the continuing Dalid Inter-Zone Basketball Tournament as participating zones faced off in two games on Sept. 19 at the Barangay Dalid Covered Court.

Zone 2 edged Zone 3, 91-90, in the second game, with Ramel Sustiguer leading the offense with 29 points to earn Player of the Game honors.

In the succeeding game, Zone 1 defeated Zone 4, 96-92, with Eliar Kim Sustiguer earning Player of the Game honors after scoring 35 points.

The tight margins underscored the competitive nature of the ongoing tournament, as participating zones continued to showcase their skills and teamwork on the court.

The inter-zone basketball series continues to provide athletes from Barangay Dalid an avenue to compete while building camaraderie among the different zones.

𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗨𝗘 | The youth of Barangay Dalid came together for a meaningful Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) Assembly on Dec. 29, 2025, engaging in discussions on matters concerning the community while strengthening their role in shaping a more responsive and active youth sector.

Beyond the discussions, the assembly also brought fun and fellowship as young participants joined games and took home exciting prizes, creating a space where ideas, friendship, and youth participation came together.

DALID, SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Competition intensified in the continuing Dalid Inter-Zone Basketball Tournament as participating zones fought for crucial victories in four games played on September 6 and 12 at the Barangay Dalid Covered Court.

On September 6, Zone 1 opened the day's action with a 79-70 victory over Zone 3, led by Player of the Game Alemar Burlaza, who finished with 23 points.

In the second game, Zone 4 secured an 86-78 win against Zone 2, with Ranie Guartilla leading the charge with 24 points to earn Player of the Game honors.

The tournament resumed on September 12, with Zone 1 continuing its winning run after defeating Zone 2, 90-80. Jairus Salvadico powered Zone 1's offense with a game-high 35 points, earning Player of the Game recognition.

Zone 3 closed the day's competition with an 89-83 victory over Zone 4. Zyrus JM Layson paced Zone 3 with 29 points and was named Player of the Game.

With each game adding to the tournament's developing standings, the inter-zone basketball series continues to provide young athletes an avenue to compete, build teamwork, and strengthen camaraderie among the different zones of Barangay Dalid.

DALID, SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials, together with appointed officials, mobilized today for a community-wide clean-up drive as part of the simultaneous province-wide implementation of “Limpyo Iloilo: Panglimpyo Para sa Dengue kag Baha.”

The initiative was carried out pursuant to Executive Order No. 116, s. 2026, calling on local government units and communities across Iloilo to work together in eliminating mosquito-breeding sites and addressing areas vulnerable to flooding.

Barangay officials took part in clearing and cleaning community spaces, removing stagnant water and unnecessary containers that may serve as breeding sites, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal, and clearing canals and drainage systems.

The activity underscores the barangay’s continued efforts to strengthen community participation in dengue prevention and flood mitigation, encouraging every household to take an active role in keeping their surroundings clean, safe, and free from potential health and environmental hazards.

SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Reminding the youth of the dangers of illegal drugs and the importance of making responsible decisions, Barangay Dalid officials gathered young residents for an awareness initiative focused on drug prevention and the protection of their future.

The activity was led by Punong Barangay Hon. Juliet Susbilla, with members of the Sangguniang Barangay reinforcing the discussion through reminders on the harmful effects of illegal drug use and its possible consequences on one’s health, education, relationships and aspirations.

Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson Fritz Jaime L. Sumbo emphasized that the youth have a significant role in shaping their own future. He reminded participants that the decisions they make today can influence the opportunities they will have tomorrow, urging them to choose paths that support their dreams and long-term goals.

The initiative underscored that staying away from illegal drugs is not only about avoiding harmful substances but also about protecting one’s potential, pursuing meaningful opportunities and becoming a positive force in the community.

Through the collective reminders of barangay and youth leaders, the gathering encouraged the youth to remain informed, make wise choices and take ownership of a future built on responsibility, discipline and hope.

SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO — Continuing the competition after its Aug. 30 opening, Zone 3 and Zone 1 secured victories during the second game day of the Dalid Inter-Zone Basketball League on Sept. 5, 2026.

Zone 3 defeated Zone 4, 89–73, in the first game of the day. John Ervin Martinez led Zone 3’s offensive effort with 36 points, earning Player of the Game honors and helping his team secure a 16-point victory.

In the second matchup, Zone 1 overpowered Zone 2, 92–76. Alemar Burlaza contributed 27 points for Zone 1 and was named Player of the Game for his performance in the team’s 16-point win.

The second day of league action featured high-scoring performances and determined play from the participating zones, further building momentum in the ongoing inter-zone competition.
