The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting a significant storm this week, bringing heavy rain and possible flooding to communities across the region.

To prepare your home for possible flooding, sand and sandbags are available at Claremont Fire Stations. There is a limited number of filled sandbags. Residents are encouraged to bring a shovel to fill the bags.

At last night’s City Council meeting, Corey Calaycay was honored as the outgoing Mayor, and Jennifer Stark was selected as the new Mayor. Ed Reece was selected as Vice Mayor for the coming year. Congratulations to all!

However, as the shutdown continues, some residents may experience delays in state and federal benefits. California officials have announced that CalFresh benefits may lapse beginning November 1.

If you or someone you know is facing food insecurity or other challenges due to the pause in benefits, the City has compiled a list of local assistance programs.
