Detroiter running for Secretary of State to show up and deliver for our community

I was raised in a union household.

My dad was a Detroit firefighter, and I learned early on that unions fight for workers’ safety, protection, and dignity.

Today, as a member of AFT Local 6075 and a father with two children in Detroit Public Schools, I see the impact of union workers every day.

I’ll always stand with the workers who keep Michigan running.

One of my favorite parts of this journey is spending time with residents, hearing their stories, supporting community events, and staying connected to the issues that matter most to our neighborhoods.

Memorial Day is about more than a long weekend.

Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country and the families who carry that sacrifice every single day.

As an Army Captain and former Director of Michigan Veterans Affairs, this day carries deep meaning for me.

Take a moment today to remember them, share their stories, and check in on the families who continue to carry that loss.

Freedom is not free.

Transportation shouldn’t be a barrier to opportunity.

I believe every Detroiter should be able to get to work, school, healthcare, and home without worrying about the cost of a bus ride.

Free public transit means a more connected Detroit and more opportunity for everyone.

What do you think — should DDOT be free?

I joined the Army at 30 because some callings don’t go away.

That same commitment guides my work for Detroit today. Show up. Step up. Get it done.
