When our members voted to give this month’s funds to a food bank, we had no idea just how powerful that impact would be. Today we toured the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama and delivered a check for $800, enough to provide 3200 meals.
They distribute 24 million pounds of food a year which is around 50,000 meals to people daily, and the need is growing with the government shutdown and SNAP benefits paused. These numbers reflect how great the need is in our central Alabama Community.
